The small fluffy kind. You scoop them up with the piece of wood on the right, and drop them into either of the sections of the wooden container on the left, after removing the other items. The twine in the middle is to ensure that they don't escape. I'm not sure what you do with the other bits, although you could conceivably use the bit of wood with a knob on it to make chick pancakes.
