<div style="text-align: center;"> <h1><big>Road Trip V</big></h1>
<div style="text-align: left;">

Greetings, Friday night I had the honor of attending the fifth road trip hosted by Dor, our lovely caretaker of the YMCA. As we gathered at the , we all chatted and joked waiting for when Dor would announce that it was time to leave. We did not have to wait long and soon were moving outside to take a gate for our first stop on the island of <a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/content/atlas/moonglow.shtml>Moonglow, the<span style="font-weight: bold;"> Mage Tower</span>. Wait you say, the Mage Tower? Do you speak of the tower that is in Trammel? Best I should clarify that where we were going is the ruins of the first mage tower on Sonoma.

Stepping outside, a gate spell was cast by Yule B Sori, but it was not the gate we expected, an error with runes, <a target="_blank" href=http://boards.stratics.com/php-bin/guilds/uo/all/postlist.php?Cat=&amp;Board=thbsonforum>Theresa of THB</a> asked where were they going and when informed by Dor "<span style="font-style: italic;">to the ruins of the Mage Tower</span>", Theresa pulled open her rune books and cast a gate to the a location just steps from the ruins of the old Mage Tower.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
</div> </div>

As the party step through the gate and exit at the mage tower they were overwhelm at the horror they witness, for among the ruins of the tower were now monsters, and <a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/database/view.php?db_content=hunters&amp;id=223>Krakens had taken over the area swimming around the fallen stones, who did not like seeing us there and started targeting us. If not for Gypsy Queen and others they could have made our visit very interesting.

However this did not stop Dor, being the trooper she is, she begin to tell us of the tale of the<a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/secrets/tc/tc_338.shtml> night the Tower fell</a>.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Dor:</span> <span style="font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">*shudders at unbidden memories*</span><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span> good gods, now I fear recounting the story of its Fall. Where Yule now stands is where I stood, upon that fateful day. On the steps of the mage Tower, with Qaladar and Aurin Wildfire. The Kale'joka had threatened revenge and sent a vast army here to this spit of land, the ground was covered as far as the eye could see with enemy troops. All attacking, I healed Qal and Aurin desperately to keep them from falling but as the battle raged a sound was heard from that quarter out from the sea and when we turned to behold it. Up arose <a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/newspics/sonoma/sn-Mage_TowerKM1.jpg>The Oracle</a>, faster than any sea serpent ever witnessed and the head rose up and up... on a great, slender neck almost reaching the sky and then as we watched in stunned horror.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
</div> </div> <span style="font-style: italic;">Still the Krakens and Sea Serpents tried to stop Dor from telling her tale, almost as if they knew she was the reason we were here, targeting her, forcing us to attack them so that she could continue her tale and not worry about being **** by one of the beasts.</span>

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Dor: </span>It uttered some arcane words, some vast and terrible Spell of Destruction and the stones of the Tower began to crumble around us and splash, thudding, into the sea and still we fought (or healed, in my case) until the tower was no more and Qaladar died here,<span style="font-weight: bold;"> *She points to a location near her*</span>. And Aurin died here, within my arms and was seen no more.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">

Once finished, Dor then announce our next stop, The Journey's End, a tavern by the sea edge, just an short walk from the ruins of the tower. Its here we learn that once the tower fell the action on Moonglow transferred here. Located at The Journey's End is a stable master, banker and cook, the site rest within the guard zone so visitors are somewhat safe. There is a dock that allows ships to land and a teleport pad near there that allows fast access to the Tavern itself. This would have been a very good place for those Felucca Based guilds to use as a resupply base.

<div style="text-align: center;">

</div>

Just a short little walk from the tavern is this egg shape boulder, it is here that another of our group tell us of a battle that took place here. Dor does remember it, but none are clear on who was who and when it happen. Pressing on we continue the tour, our next stop the Moonglow telescope.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/newspics/sonoma/Sn-YMCA_Road_Trip_4-7-06KM6.jpg>
</a></span>
</div> </div> <span style="font-weight: bold;">Dor:</span> This was a sight of great wonderment in days gone by and still holds mystery to this day. I believe it was to study the heavens to further scientific inquiry.

All there step up behind this huge spyglass [<a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/content/atlas/misc/telescope.jpg>Moonglow Telescope</a>] to take a look at the stars above.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">

Leaving the telescope we walk along the coast line, our next stop the Moonglow Zoo. Let it be know that the is the same as the <a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/content/atlas/misc/zoo.jpg>Trammel Zoo, except for items left by Masara at the Trammel Zoo. From the Zoo we move on along the coast, avoiding the center of the island and the moongate, seeking a house from the old day, little did we know that all we would see was a plank, an old sign laying in the road for all to walk upon.

<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: left;">

</div> </div>
Dor had been seeking a house, from the old days on the island to show us. but all we could fine of this once landmark of Felucca was this sign, the house long gone now, lost to us and our history of those days of the Mage Tower on Moonglow. We were to learn of another historical landmark to turn up missing at our next stop.

<div style="text-align: center;">

</div>

<span style="font-weight: bold;">Dor:</span> This is the Lycaeum The scene of many a gathering to help thwart Evil. Robyn ap Mir, [<a target="_blank" href=http://uo.stratics.com/secrets/tc/tc_497.shtml>Archeologist and Scholar for the Lycaeum</a>], was an archaeologist, in arcane ways, of preventing disaster at the Kale'joka's hands err, paws, claws. She was kidnapped and her notes scattered but her office <span style="font-weight: bold;">*should*</span> still be here.

Alas, her office is no longer there, with the birth of Mondain and the return of the elf's to our land, Robyn ap Mir's history is forever lost to us, her office now removed. It is sad that we lose so much history of our shard, if not to those that take items off of Sonoma to other lands, items that were Sonoma's but to lose landmarks such as this as well is heart breaking at times. Finished we all returned to the YMCA, at least it still stands, hopefully for a very long time to come.
