UOForums Interviews Ryan Findley, Stratic’s Founder
Short 'n sweet interview with Ryan, the owner/founder of Stratics.
Thanks Ryan for the brief interview
1). Did you think years ago, that you'd have gone this far, with this much support for so many games?
No, definitely not. At first I thought I thought I was just practicing my HTML.
2) Are you yourself a gamer? If so, which games do you actively play? If not, why did you stop?
Of course I am a gamer: that's how Stratics started! I'd loved the original Diablo and thought Ultima Online would be a continuation and growth upon a lovely social concept as it relates to online gameplay. Not to say the two are very much, if it all, the same, but I do believe they follow one another in terms of a lineage, or succession, of a persistent social environment geared around a fantasy setting. I was a fan and then player of UO far before its release, and decided there was a gap that needed filling. I did this for the sheer joy of the game.
Currently I stick primarily to console gaming: from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox 360 I am a console devotee. I am very disappointed in the current state of Massively Multiplayer games. The rest of this interview can be found here.
Many thanks to Ryan for this interview!
