ok I am a complete dummmy from the dark ages,but what the heck is an rss and what is this durned "favorite reader"?

Basically...it's an automatic news feed you can recieve via numerous rss readers.

With this one, evey time a post is made on the UOHerald, you get notice.

If you use Opera as your browser it has a feed reader built in - all you need to do is either click the RSS icon on the page with the feed, or click the link Jeremy posted, and it asks you if you want to "sign up" for the feed =) (Opera is such a rocking browser )

FOF is on Friday, if UO wont log in, I check for issues.

Honestly the Herald is not being used by EA nearly enough. I would think they would want it to be my "home page". It should be a daily read! But, I will just go look on Friday, as usual.

I just downloaded Wizz RSS for Firefox and the UO Herald doesn't seem to work with it.

I only get the option to add it to google. Anyone know if I am doing something wrong?

Great so we can subscribe to a reader that will tell us new updated news twice a week if we get lucky...simply great...

If you want to add it you need to subscribe to it first. To subscribe to the feed click the link (http://uoherald.com/xml/news.rss).

Then click on Subscribe To This Feed (Picture Below)

Then go back to your RSS feed reader and you should see the option to add UO News.

I'm not sure but if your running Windows Vista you can use the one that comes with the gadget bar, pictured below.

Just add the rss gadget, right click it click option and change display all to Ultima Online: News

I use Google Reader along with iGoogle, set as my homepage.
Gives me a summary of content from all manner of sites, whenever I fire up Firefox.

Could always use it as a "live bookmark", as an alternative.

Been wanting one of these feeds for ages.

Jeremy,

The feed will only work with Google in Firefox. Maybe you could pass that on to Cat.

Firefox has an RSS Feed plug-in that is part of the browser, so you don't have to use a special home page to get it. The UO RSS won't work with it for some reason.



Maybe I'll switch to Opera. :loser:

Kyrie, I just added it to the Firefox tool without any problem - what version are you using?
