Today's court session, in which prosecution was scheduled to cross-examine the Widow, has been rescheduled, due to the mysterious absence of both the Judge and the witness.
Are they both safe?? Will any further witnesses be called? The prosecution seemed to indicate they have no further witness to call. And what of the defense? What of the lone guardsman who might have been witness to the Widow's statement of events, Calyndrell?
In His Honor's absence, the prosecution and defense engaged in the following exchange:
----
William McCarthy: Well
William McCarthy: perhaps, we can convene on Thursday again.. and by then, maybe.
William McCarthy: the defense will have managed to find some poor fellow to be a witness.
Taliesin: Actually, on the contrary, I believe the prosecution is missing out on some potential witnesses.
Taliesin: There was a clear lack of guards on that night in question.
Taliesin: Calyndrell bumped into the Widow, and yet he's has nothing to say regarding his involvment.
William McCarthy: Calyndrell is away on a secret royal mission
William McCarthy: and is not available
Taliesin: Oh, is that so?
Cymidei Fier says: Convenient!
Taliesin: So we basically have one woman with questionable eyesight
Taliesin: AND questionable access to the treasury
Taliesin: that others don't have
Taliesin: as being the only claim against my clients.
Taliesin: How odd, don't you think?
William McCarthy: We also had a witness place your clients
Taliesin: Sid Vicious? Pfft.
William McCarthy: at a questionable meeting
Taliesin: There is evidence that he actually works for the Purity League.
Taliesin: Wouldn't trust a word out of that one.
Taliesin: Wildstar herself wouldn't vouch for him at trial.
William McCarthy: Yes, we should rather trust the self-proclaimed mistress of the dark, instead
Taliesin: So, lots of hearsay, and not a ton of evidence.
Taliesin: *grins*
Taliesin: Being a Mistress of the Dark doesn't make you guilty to any old claim brought up by just anyone
Taliesin: *grins*
Moses: in theses days ... it just might.
Taliesin: And yet, how unfair would that be?
Taliesin: Surely a Court of JUSTICE can do better, don't you think?
----
Only the jury may answer, Taliesin.
Court will reconvene on Thursday, April 22nd, at 7:00PM PST.
