Monday evening concerned citizens came to the call of Beleg Megil in an attempt to get answers to the many questions left about Lord Casca’s rise to power. Beleg had distributed parchments all over the land requesting those who questioned Casca’s right to rule and the council that whom had given him that right to meet at the “Shattered Skull tavern” in Skara Brae. From there the plan was for the people to march in protest to the gates of Castle Blackthorn. The castle that Lord Casca had claimed as his seat of power. Once there the gathered throng would demand answers and proof from Casca and his new royal council.
The tavern slowly filled with concerned members of the populace as it neared the appointed time for the march to start. Even Owain Surrey, who was Lord British’s his Royal Augur before he ventured into the void, showed up to take part in the march. At precisely 8:30 Beleg stood in the center of the room and gave a quick speech and then called for the start of the march. The gathered protestors then started the march heading first to the Skara Brae Moongate, and then through it to the Britain Moongate. From there they followed the road into Britain and pushed on through the city proper to Castle Blackthorn’s closed portcullis.
There the gathered mob chanted their protests and yelled their demands for Lord Casca to come out and face them. It was then decided if Casca would not come out to speak to his people then they would have to go inside to see him. Problem was no one could figure a way in until Owain spoke up and stated that he could get everyone in. Owain then opened a gate and the throng of angry citizens rushed through it and into the Castles courtyard, but they did not stop there. The possessed horde flooded forward and through the doors of the castle looking for Casca or the members of his Royal Council. They searched every room till they found some of the council members in one of the upstairs rooms. There they vehemently started asking them questions, but the members did not answer and seemed not to even notice the growing swarm of people in the room around them. That prompted Owain to grab one of the council members shoulders to get his attention only to find him cold to the touch. Using a spell taught to him by Clainin Owain cast a spell that revealed the council members to be not living humans, but mindless undead. Owain then voiced his opinion that the new council was clearly a setup, a diversion. Leaving many to wonder if this was the true council all the time or were the undead placed here in their place so they could be elsewhere? Nor was King Casca found in the castle so the gathered protestors held a discussion and decided to head over to Lord British’s Castle to see if either Casca or Sherry the mouse could be found there.
Once again the small mass of people rushed into Lord British’s Castle and poured over every inch looking for Casca, Sherry or any clue as to where they could be. Once everyone was sure they had not missed a clue the group gathered in Lord British’s throne room to openly discuss what they had found out that evening. Many thought Sherry the Mouse was the key to solving this mystery and finding her should be a top priority. Other considered finding where Casca really is the most important thing that should be accomplished. Other questions left hanging in the air were, was that the Casca’s Royal council or decoys? What hand did the Shadowlords have in all this? With the rumors of Clainins death who would fill that void for the people? Who has the right and deserves to be the King? Where is Casca holding Avery? Whatever happened to Ricardo?
One thing was for sure the people had come looking for answers and by the end of the evening was left with many more burning questions than answers.
