Summit Meet Turns Deadly
The usually tranquil and informative biweekly gathering of the player cities from around the realm took an unexpected twist this past Wednesdays eve as tragedy struck within the very walls of the Queen's castle. The evening began with the usual greetings and banter as several announcements and inquiries were made.
Gyldenfeld: Announced a group or "sailors" as they were termed had requested a permit to operate in the normally loyal waters and areas in and around Gyldenfeld. The Mayor inquired asto such a permit affecting thier status as a loyal ally of the crown.
Guardians Gate: Inquired about the current status of the Livery quest with regards to the next installment. Also inquired about the cities request for backup forces yet to be seen to investigate recent attacks on the city.
Silvervale: Inquired about the process of editing the tables nameplates to updated ambassadors from each city.
Paxlair: Requested the proper method of inquiry in regards to the construction of a city dock facility.
The floor was then closed to open discussion as a familiar figure emerged in the doorway. Kendrick Morrow the Magician introduced himself to those in attendance and requested the groups attention to wonder and amaze as he did his best to impress Ambassador Zodok. Appearing atop the grand table, his best parlor tricks and slight of hand in two the crowd became bewildered by his enchanting display.
As quickly as it began the show soon turned toward its eventual dark path. The Magician disappeared, taking with him Ambassador Zodok. Instead of a wonderous finale to his sideshow, Blistering Infernos poured into the room slaying all those in thier path. The crowd battling for life and limb did not see the exit of Kendrick with Zadok. They simply vanished into thin air...
The call to arms answered and the infernos beaten the trusted warrior Drake Foxx soon arrived to assess the situation. Advised of the missing Ambassador, he led the summit out to seek any sign of thier dissappearance. Instructed to search the confines of the city, platers soon spotted a naked and dazed Kendrick the Magician along the southeast shores of Britian bond inside the guard tower.
It wasnt long before the discovery made it way back to Drake as he arrived to question and examine the magician. He remembered nothing of the nights events nor even visiting the castle.
It was duely noted a large wound was found on the back of the magicians head as apparently we had all been victims of an elaborate rouse! The magician we thought to be Kendrick was not him at all.
The suspicious group then escorted Kendrick to the castle to aid in the investigation. Analyzing the magical residue left from the nights "magic show" Kendrick was able to determine the suspect had used a braclet of binding to transport the Ambassador to an unknown location. Hurriedly the group rushed to aid the missing Ambassador only to find they were too late! The Royal Ambassador Tavalia Zodok was found dead and alone with her throat cut....
Shocked by the nights events, the crowd mourned the loss of the revered Ambassador. The only clues left on the scene were the clothes stolen from Kendrick himself. Foxx swore to us all the one responsible for this would soon answer for his or her actions.
With mixed emotions the crowd in attendance knew not wether Kendrick could be trusted. After leaving the scene of the murder Morrow was escorted back to the city of Britain and remanded into the protective custody as he was admitted into the healers to mend his wounds.
The realm know seeks the truth to who or what was behind this grizzly act of treachery inside Castle British. Who could pull off such a brash scheme? What motive have they do take the very life of public servant on the realm? No one can be sure as rumors and conspiracy theories abound. We trust there will be swift justice in the matter.
