This will be an occasional feature highlighting an aspect of the site. Today's topic is.
Searching for Information.


If you are overwhelmed by the sheer volume of excellent information we have and can not find the particular piece you seek, this article is written with you in mind. First, please notice that on either side of the main http://uo.stratics.com page there are two index menus.

These menus are, in effect, the site directory. They contain links to a variety of articles and information pages and are arranged in what we believe to be logical groupings under headings. Click on the + signs to expand the headings and see the links. Following a link will take you to a page dealing with that topic, the page will probably also have links to related pages in one or more menulines at the top, as in this example.

In addition, at the top of the left menu, we have a custom google search box which will search the site. Simply put in your search criteria and go. This box searches UO.Stratics only and will not return results from the web at large. The downside to this is, it will find every page on the subject, regardless of age. Most recent pages are composed in Drupal and will have a url similar to this: uo.stratics.com/php-bin/show_content.php?content=30023, ie ending in a 'node number'. When viewing your search results, consult these pages first.
To search our hunter's guide, atlas and items databases three further search boxes are provided, all four available search boxes are pictured below.

We hope that you will now find it easier to navigate the site. Our staff are also happy to help point you in the right direction and will often post relevant links in answer to questions on our message boards. We are here to help and support our fellow travellers in that magical land of Sosaria.

It's the first in a series of features I'll do, at no particular time interval. I did this first because I was so tired of reading people complaining that they couldn't find things on the site. We have search functions, they work. We have an index, that works too. But all of them only if you actually use them!

But anyway, already had to find all of this out and never have been able to get any useful results out of the item or monster searcher.
