[NEWS] Player Town: “Red Skull Bay”

After hearing rumors of the place, I decided to venture out in search of the fabled Red Skull Bay. Red Skull Bay is located on the Catskills Shard on the mainland to the North East of the main Isle of Jhelom. The town was built along the beach at the end of the peninsula forming the southern edge of the bay. With pirate ships roaming the seas to the south, the town is well located to feast upon the bounty from the merchants sailing from the Jhelom Docks.

The central point of the town is the “Jolly Roger Inn”. Despite the pirate flag out front, the inn has a welcoming appearance with a grand staircase leading up to a tavern on the 2nd floor. It is only when you descend the stairs to the lower level that the sinister nature of the place is revealed. Though it is named an inn, the only place for travelers to sleep is a hard bench in a cell where you can peek through the bars towards the treasure room that surely holds whatever wealth you brought with you. Should you escape from the cell and are still looking for excitement, the top floor of the inn contains records of their pirate activities including many player run events.

One the western point of the town is a tall tower known as “The Block House”. Given the location, you might expect a grand lighthouse, but it seems the towns inhabitants do not wish to announce their presence. Instead you will find a fortified tower with cannons ready to defend the town.

On the eastern side of the inn you will find “The Black Market”. Because most of a pirates time is spent sailing the high seas, The Black Market is only open on the first Saturday of each month. At the Market, Captains can sell their contraband and smuggled goods to any who are willing to risk venturing into the pirate town in search of a discount.

To the south of the Market is the “Old Admiral’s Retreat”. The Retreat appears to be a simple place of rest for a retired seaman. The views of the ocean to the south must make an old sailor feel right at home.

The eastern building is the “United Pirates Workshop”. Like the other buildings in town, there is plenty of storage for loot. This appears to be where anything that might have been broken during… acquisition… can be repaired before being sent to the market. I am sure many a pirate vessel has been outfitted here as well.

Lastly, along the southern shore, you will find the town dock from which the pirate fleet sets sail, and where their ill-gotten booty is unloaded. The skeletons of past opponents decorate the dock serving as a warning to any that might choose to cross the United Pirates.

So if you’ve ever been waylaid on the High Seas of Catskills, this just might be the place to visit to purchase your missing goods.

These are great! I'm going to steal some ideas from you.

I'm creating a new house (12x17 I think). On the plot I want two structures and a courtyard. A tall building in the NW corner, and a smaller workshop in the SW corner, with a bridge connecting them on a higher floor. Your first posted building has given me some ideas on the NW structure. :D
