PaxLair's 12th Anniversary Opening Ceremony has a surprise!

PaxLair's 12th Anniversary Celebration opened with a surprise! Queen Dawn made an appearance at the Mage Tower in PaxLair City, Felucca. Queen Dawn greeted everyone and thanked Governor Winfield for wine he had sent to her previously then spoke the following words to much cheering, "I stand with you this night and wish to extend a special congratulations to all the citizens of PaxLair, past, present and future on this most joyous Anniversary. Our realm hath faced vile hardship these years.Tis warming to know this great Statehood has withstood the trials of time"

The cheers and fireworks raised such a din that the Queen had to raise her hands for silence before continuing, "To the continued prosperity of PaxLair and the Kingdom of Britannia!"

Queen Dawn smiled warmly and turned back to Governor Winfield and congratulated him before taking her leave to attend to pressing matters of the state.Govenor Winfield said after the Queen's Departure, "Hard to say much after that, yet we begin."

The Opening speech contained the following from Governor Winfield, "Welcome to PaxLair's 12th Anniversary!! I'm Governor Winfield, leader of the PaxLair Statehood. Long ago, this meadow was inhabited only by roaming headless and a small clan of orcs. Humans from a guild called The Band came from Prison Isle in Yew. They cultivated the lands and built buildings here. Over several years, PaxLair grew to three cities and became a Statehood."

"We have PaxLair City, Dragons Watch, and PaxOku along with a vibrant alliance of citizens and friends. What you see here and in our other cities now is a product of living in this Realm for 12 years. What you will see this week is the spirit of people working together. What you can do is participate in several events and quests. What you should feel is a sense of comradarie, teamwork, and enthusiasm. Please allow me to introduce our mayors and ambassadors. We have Mayor Ga'kuct of PaxLair City!" Winfield continued.

At this point in the opening speech there was a general disturbance in the audience and Winfield asked, "Is there a problem in the audience?"

Lady Winmere replied, "Lady Jessica is here tyring to take the goblins!"
to which Governor Winfield replied, " Ah, stand guard by her and the goblins please."

Lady Jessica replied, "Yes there is, I was told no fighting and a few want to attack me. I can shed blood if thy wishs"

Governor Winfield replied, "Nay, we will remain calm. This is neutral ground."

Lady Jessica was asked to put away her Goblin Cage and Governor Winfield continued with his opening speech, "Again, We have Mayor Ga'kuct of PaxLair City! We have Mayor NANOC of Dragons Watch!
For PaxOku, I am the acting Mayor while we develop our cultural centers. My ambassadors are dedicated to work with all of Sosaria's townships to help establish or enhance our meaningful relations. My ambassadors are Ashlynn, Ben, Brooke, and Tatania Karthina."

The Governor continued, "We have Anniversary events planned from tonight through next Tuesday. These events are listed in your books we handed out. If you did not get a book, please get one from the Blue
Bags.The bags are on the outside edges of this roof We are honored by your presence and participation. We are honored by the old and new townships and the EMs we see this week. We are honored that you remember PaxLair, that some are part of PaxLair, and you all join us this week to celebrate the past, present, and future. Thank you all, and let the Anniversary begin!!"

And so it did...

In conclusion, The Statehood of PaxLair has many events scheduled for this monumentous Anniversary week. We hope to see you there!

I thank all who could make it to our Opening Ceremonies!

Queen Dawn's appearance was a totally unexpected surprise to me ... I had to think fast and thank goodness Knight Sir Monk was with me at top-stage to help render the honors. It was delightful to hear the Queen speak directly to us all ... all from many townships.

Lady Jessica's appearance was also a surprise. In the midst of my speech, I heard rustling in the audience. As you know I asked if there was a problem, and in a few very short moments I had to decide on action, practically mid-sentence. PaxLair City has always been intended as neutral ground for friend and foe, except in the Arena where blood may be shed with honor. So, I appreciate that blood was spared on our historical tower roof, and enemies stood down for the moment.

I saw mayors, council members, & citizens from many townships, and some long-ago friends who returned. It was a special opening ceremony for me ... each year is. I hope it was also memorable for those of you who could attend.

Yeah, I noticed you look directly over in my direction before looking to your left. Did Jessica end up getting that Goblin stuffed in the Cage? She flamed out quickly.

Paxlair's celebration went further last eve as the commencement of the grand quest presented by Lady Tat is well under way as well as the first round of the Archery qualifiers. Congratulations to Se'an Silverfoot as he was the first to make it to the finals!
