Merxmere Banner Constructed
Merxmere, Trammel

September 14, 2010
By: Merik

Nothing can compare to the morning breeze coming off the lake, in the center of Merxmere. Merxmere may be one of the newest townships built on Chesapeake but its residence are well known on Chesapeake and around many different shards. The name Merxmere means, Merchants of the Lake. The name could not be more fitting for such a township. Take a look around the town and you will see what I mean.

The newly constructed banner designed by The Evil Gunga Din, is one of the most unique and beautiful designs on the shard. The design is not just for show, it also gives you a wide range of the history. History of the location and those who inhabit the township.

Let first start off with the Old Rusty armor of Cross. Elijah Cross wore this armor during the battles they faced with the Sea Serpents in the Lake. Over the course of these battles the armor began to rust. Most likely due to him diving into the Lake taking on the Serpents with his bare hands. The armor now hangs on the side of the tent, to remind visitors and residence of the battles. Looking for a new delicacy to try? Then I highly suggest Gunga Din's Famous Clam Chowder!!! Just stop on by Merxmere Tavern and order a bowl! Looking over to the left side you will find a Barrel that held some of the rares Lineman retrieved from the Lake. Unfortunately he was unable to salvage some of them completely. Lord Aspen's Red Chair is where he spends most of his time looking over his 401S plan. Aspen decided to retire to Merxmere with a large and untaxed bank account. What town is complete without a unique export? If you are looking for some great fishing bait then look no further then Merxmere! The Firefly jar is used by local fishermen as bait. You can tell how well they work by the Champion Fish, with a weight of 197lbs laying on the dock.Some of the establishments you will find in Merxmere include;

Merxmere Tavern & Smithy: A tavern of exceptional quality.
Mage Tower of Merxmere: (Connected to other towns via a teleporter)
Seafarmers Collegium of Merxmere [SCM]: Mariner's Fishing Guild
Knights' Sanctum:
The Codex: (Library)
Keeper of the Ancients: A museum of antiquities and artifacts.

We will be visiting the Keeper of the Ancients museum in the coming days. This Museum holds a tremendous amount of not just artifacts and eye candy but entire history. I now leave you with some addition Merxmere information and history. For a full history feel free to look at the Chesapeake Directory, under Merxmere or simply Click Here.

Lore:
The story of how Merxmere was formed is a complicated one. A year ago, three master merchants came across a beggar in the streets of Skara Brae. This unkempt man was badly in need of some coin and approached the merchants with a proposition. The beggar went on to speak of a codex that contained information about an underwater treasure trove within the lands of Britannia. At first the three doubted this story and its validity; however, the beggar then revealed his true identity.......
