Vladimere's Stone House
September 7, 2009

(No such event really happened. This was made special for Em Vladimere)
When did you start in Ultima Online?
December 1997
Before you became an EM did you work or Volunteer for Ultima Online?
Yes. I was a Counselor and Seer.
We know EM Dudley likes cookies. What does Vladimere like?
I am not much of a candy or cookie eater. So I would say Cheese and Sausage Pizza.
Main dish would be Shrimp and Steak, Mashed potatoes, brown gravy and corn.
How does the EM chain of command go? Also, how do you and EM Dudley work together?
Mesanna is the over all boss. EM Dudley and I are equal. We share duties at times together.
He has events running from new Haven and I have events running from Luna. We team up if
needed for an event. We try not to schedule events at the same time. Its hard to get the
players on felucca together to discuss events with them. They don't all sit around a bank at
the same time like they do in New Haven and Luna. Also some EMs are robed on other
shards to assist them if needed too.
Pixel items. Are you against this?
I am not against it. I do not have permission from Mesanna to give them away.
Right now the items allowed are cloaks of Silence, Mesanna's Cream Pie and EM Sash's.
If I make them and Gm Mark them we can do some items But, I cant inscribe them.
I had a fishing contest where I gave away fishing poles that said "Exceptional Em Vladimere"
gm marked. GM = Grandmaster and not Game master. I went out and chopped logs to
make the poles. Just like a regular player would have to do.

As an EM how do you deal with constant attacks about how well you perform and events
held? Also, how you deal with people who praise you.
I don't take anything personal. Sometimes it might seem that way but I really don't
Like everyone else, praise is good. You always hear more negative then positive.
No matter what I do their will be some that did not like an event and others that loved it.
Do you read the Chesapeake forums daily? And which ones?
No I don't read them daily. I do look at UO stratics but its the main page where you
see all the shards information. I do look at the forums sometimes. I don't like
players who rant and rave about something they don't like in the forums. Would
make my blood pressure boil and I don't want to have a heart attack over silliness.
What is your overall feel of the Chesapeake shard community?
The Chessy shard has a great group of players that come to events.
They are learning that I am not gonna give out something every event.
If they want to come and possibly enjoy themselves I welcome them with
open hands. Pardon the pun. If they come to get a reward that they can
sell 5mintues later then they wont have fun. I was hired to get the
community to have fun together, not make a few of the player rich.
How do you feel about player run cities?
I think its great to have them.
Some on Chesapeake would like nothing more then a little stone that says.
"Welcome to _____ City." Any chance you would try to push that in? Maybe
have the communities work together to achieve this. Run an event for it?
The Marker that says Welcome to ________ City would have to go through
Mesanna's permission. She would be the one to make that decision.
The Multi-Color Horde Minion. Some were under the impression we might be
able to name it. Any chance of that happening? Or is Papa Smurf it?
That was a Mesanna and I believe Gareth creation. I cant answer that question
for them.

Jessica, Temptress and Franklin. Have these three been used by you
before? Or did you come up with the characters when you became an EM?
They were done after I became an EM. Instead of 1 night Events I decided to
make an ongoing event that would end after a while. I don't want it to drag
on for years. A couple of months is good
When writing these characters do you become attached to them in your mind?
Yes, to me they are RPC Characters. They cant be online like regular
players all the time. I hate to see one of them Die off.
Temptress was seen placing black roses on corpses, is that true?
It was an emote black rose and not a pixel item black rose.
Like she did with this *Collects another soul*
Different stories have gone around about why the auction houses got runes
locked down. Can you explain to us what made you think of doing this for them?
Also many view you as a saint for finally locking down the runes. How does that
make you feel?
I had quite a few complaints about people taking the runes and dumping them in
the trash. I had quite a few complaints about players running around griefing the
auction houses and changing the rune names etc. So I asked how to stop it and
got replies house mark them. So to stop them from going to the trash I locked
them down. That way players that wanted to go to the auctions could. It was
more in the interest for the players then the guilds. Some think it was. The players
that reported me and tried to get me into trouble did not succeed. They were the
ones that were taking the runes and doing alot of the griefing. When they could
not harass anymore they went after me. It was done to enhance the game and
not take away from it.
When you locked down the runes did you know you answered a prayer Communities
have had for almost ten years?
At the time no. After it was spread across the forums, yes.
How are people to submit there ideas to you? and can we design the area the
runes would go in?
Down stairs is a bulletin board I read it about 2x a week. We are still working on
details about a place for the runes to be locked down. With the release of SA
about to happen the runes is not a must do project. When and where its to
happen will be of a nice design to enhance and not degrade the area.
Thank you for taking the time to sit down with me. I hope that everyone is
able to read this and get to know a little more about you. "What is that on the wall? Look!"
