You find this story in the Vesper News Bulletin, prominently displayed under a story about a mysterious wool thief that's shearing all the sheep in town.
New laws have come into effect recently in the Free Republic of Vesper. Some of them are self-evident, such as the law that forbids brawling without consent, while others have raised many an eyebrow. One such law came into the limelight this past Sunday. As the reader already knows, the wise men who designed our code of laws established that no hats are to be worn on Sundays. As luck would have it, both our Redguard Commander and his Captain had lost track of the days of the week, and found themselves in momentary violation of the new law. One would be hard pressed not to forgive such honorable men for this paltry faux pas. But the leaders of the Redguard are nothing if not righteous, and they stoically braved the consequences of their misdemeanor. A fine was swiftly paid, and the money collected by partisan Garrofi -the issuing redguard- to be used for the furthering of Vesper and its citizens. May this recounting of the events prove, to one and all, that Justice reigns in the Free Republic of Vesper, and may no one ever forget the moral integrity and fortitude of the glorious Redguard Leadership. Huzza!
