Citizens continue to defend themselves from mercenary attacks all over the realms.
Those targeted have been communities who aligned themselves in support of the gargoyle race. Mercenary Assaults or the immediate threat of assault have been brought against The Kingdom of Dawn, Spawners Inc., The Ancient Order, Covenant of the Dark Moon, Defenders of the Shire, Misfits of Society, Baja Girl Scout Troop #1, Elf Clan Zanthes, and the Fellowship of Peace. Watchful citizens patrol these communities, looking for new signs of invasion or threat.
Many of them have received surrender demands, including a demand for the outright revocation of any gargoyle support and extermination of the one called... The Yattering.
But as the assaults continue, and defiant citizens continue to raise battle standard and defend their homelands, one has to wonder...
Where is the money for all of these mercenary assaults coming from??
Anyone who has fought the mercenaries knows that these men put up a strong fight, and would demand heavy wage. As wave after wave pours through the moongates, the clear toll on a funding source would seem evident. But who would have that kind of limitless financial reserve??

It was Nicholas the Old who reminded this reporter recently of the recent depletion of the Royal Treasury. You may recall that the Purity League was involved in the raiding of the treasury of Castle Britain.
Any who could have pulled off such a heist would have a seemingly endless financial reserve! Readers may also recall that The Dark Tower and Ravenshire were found guilty in the Court of Truth for their parts in the heist.
Yet, where is the money?
As more communities state their intentions to defy the surrender demands and hold out in hope that the attacks abate, it becomes clear that unless other means of relief present themselves, the only ways out may be to either surrender, or cut off the supply of funding to the mercenary invaders. After all, these are not the kind of men to work for free, and someone holds the purse strings. But who??
Surely, then, there would be footprints. Perhaps a large deposit at a financial institution or across several financial institutions within a few nights of the robbery? It would also seem to be clear that an equally large withdrawal would likely have been made shortly before the mercenary invasions began, within the last several weeks.
I began my inquiries at the West Britain Bank, to little avail.
Spreading out my search, I began to inquire with financial institutions, large and small, looking for any who might be willing to divulge that they had both received extremely large deposits and extremely large withdrawals during the periods in question. Many were either unwilling to cooperate or simply had nothing of relevance to share.
However, one or two large off-shore banks held several disturbing discrepancies in their books that warrant further investigation:
Citizens, keep your eyes open for any clues that could lead to the discovery of the mercenaries' funding. Anything unusual, such as large withdrawal requests by suspicious persons, massive food or military supply requisitions, or clandestine large-scale market activities should be reported to the Town Guard or Britannia News Network immediately.
But what of the terms of the surrender and the demand that the Yattering be extinguished? For what purpose does it serve to put out such a large ransom on such a seemingly inconsequential creature?
Some could maintain that the surrender notice is simply what it appears to be. A scathing demand for the purification of race and the exile of those unlike humankind. Yet there are those who speculate that the Purity League's intentions go beyond "purity" motivations. Some speculate that the intent could be to break a powerful alliance. To turn humans against gargoyles, and humans against humans with it.
