[NEWS:] How to know when an EM Event is about to take place.

EM Kasaven today provided the information on how he would let the Catskills player base know when an scheduled event was about to take place. He plans to use three different methods to make sure everyone has a chance to know when there will be a event.

The first one is he will place a shield, with the facts about the event posted on it, just inside the doorway of the old Councilors Guild building that he resides in now. If you see the shield on the floor just click on it to see what is going on. (Previously I had reported he had planned to use a book to inform players but the decision was made to use the shield instead.)

The second way he will let players know there is an upcoming event is he will light the lantern that sits on a bench at the top of the steps on the right hand side when entering Castle Britannia. Though he is thinking of placing a torch in its place possibly.

The final way is using the Town Crier system to get the news out. Though they say some of the Criers fail to share information like they should at the present time.

EM Kasaven wants to try and let people know at least a day in advance of when a event will take place, and your staff here at Stratics will strive to help keep all of you updated on future events too.

I can remember the days when we had no gm events. It sucked. It is wonderful to have stuff going on in UO now.

What makes me frown the most is that anyone can turn that lantern on and off. It would be nice if the access was set to "GM" use only. Be it a torch or a lantern, if you allow access to it, then inevitably someone will turn it off an on as they please.

Just a suggestion.
