Citizens of Britannia! Mowdly, the pirate, and custodian of the location of the second of four map fragments vital to the preservation of human and gargoyle civilizations has been slain! The ghost of Mowdly entreated citizens to avenge him tomorrow, Saturday, June 5th, at 6:00PM PST, when the moons shall turn the Ghost Captain and crew responsible for Mowdly's Curse mortal.

Citizens will recall that earlier in the week, Beh-Lem the Gargoyle requested that citizens once again seek out the Thief Master of Britain, in the sewers below the city, to ask about Mowdly's last known whereabouts.

The Thief Master revealed that Tessa, Mowdly's wife, may know more and that she took up work as a tavern maid in Skara Brae, having to work now that her husband disappeared.

Tessa, heartsick and worried for her husband, didn't know what happened to Mowdly but suggested contacting Tobias in Buccaneer's Den who may know more.

Tobias was found in the Buccaneer's Den Baths, and confessed to knowing where Mowdly had been seen, but demanded a price for the information. Love, it seemed, had struck him, for he was besotted with Mowdly's wife, Tessa. Tobias agreed to help the citizens in return for bringing Tobias some of Tessa's favorite flowers.

Asking Tessa about her favorite flowers rewarded questioners with the name of a rare, budding rose: the Moonberry Rose. But this would not prove as easy as simply plucking a flower from a hedge! Tessa revealed that the Moonberry Rose only grows on the outskirts of the Ophidian Lair in Felucca.

Adventurers had to brave desert, serpent-men, and assassins lurking in shadows to pluck a Moonberry Rose from the middle of three bushes on the right of the outside of the lair. (This is an exceptionally difficult area, and only stealthers should attempt it solo.)

Returning a moonberry rose to Tobias rewarded adventurers with a name: Fergus, the Harbormaster, who it seems was to be found in Serpent's Hold (Cheat: Clever adventurers may have discovered that Tobias is not especially bright and--having very little familiarity with botany--cannot tell the moonberry rose from whispering roses or other kinds of single-stemmed roses. It was possible to cheat Tobias out of his treasured information!)

Fergus the Harbormaster then said that Mowdly had joined up with a very odd band of crewmen aboard a ship rumored to have been cursed. They had set sail, never to be seen again, and last seen midway between Vesper, Ice Island, Moonglow, and Nujel'm.

At the point indicated on the map, there is a tiny dock with a dead crewman posted as a warning and instructions that only true pirates may "enter" by speaking the pirate word for "friend".

Utter the phrase, "Matey" to descend to the remains of the sunken pirate ship, and discover that Mowdly has perished! His ghost remained to tell his sad story, of a cursed crew and a Ghost Captain who alone hold the keys to releasing Mowdly from the curse.

Avenge him, Mowdly said, and he would reveal the location where he hid the second map fragment. The Ghost Captain is turned temporarily mortal when the moons hit a certain phase. The next time the moons will align in such a way is tomorrow at 6:00PM PST!

Adventurers! Seek out the Ghost Captain Saturday, June 5th, at 6:00PM PST and avenge Mowdly's Ghost! All four map fragments must be obtained to avert the impending disaster awaiting Britannia.

You missed the start of the event. We're all out on the ocean seas, fighting pirates. I'll open gates from the top of west brit bank periodically.

I had such a blast during that event. My character was rather stinky but was good for cross healing. I tried to get one of those three northern ships to pull side to side so the dexers could get up there. I think the EM unlocked the boat which made things go a bit faster. Wish I could have stayed longer but Tornado sirens were going off. I give this event Two thumbs waaaay up!
