Bing is a BAMF ... he has like a gajillion lvl 70's in wow.

I read that somewhere

EA loses. (not because of the WoW thing though)
:p

I wonder if Bing leaving was the last straw for our simmies...Maybe he was all for keeping the game alive, then when he left they were all, later mofo's! Bigwigs generally don't just get up and leave one day, these things are in the works for months, if not years.....

Good. EA was getting top-heavy with people who "used" to design games.

(ooo speculate)

Maybe they were all "we are closing TSO"
and he's like "Um no"
and they are like "um yeah you can't stop us"
and he's like "O well FFL, I am a BAMF"

Something about speaking unintelligible makes me feel giggly.

Something about using mofo in a sentence makes me feel warm and squishy inside!

I hope he said "You are not the boss of me" before he left.

I hope he flipped them at least the peace sign on his way out... if not the peace sign without the pointer.

(but probably not b/c he still is doing work for them... which I guess makes him sorta smart and sorta half a bamf.)

BAMF or 1/2 BAMF, he's still got a lot more simoleans than me!

Probably smart to keep his hand in the cookie jar. He shows up once a year for an hour or two and gets $100k or something. Nice work if you can get it!

Word... I'm not above selling my soul to a corporation.

My soul is pretty stained as it is.

Either way I've been reading a few of this stuff... from the links posted earlier by Lane, and if my speculation is correct I'm sure its all connected. i'm thinking we haven't heard the last of these mofos (there I made you feel squishy culbert
)

Just because I love connecting the dots for pie-in-the-sky speculations.....

Bing is joining a venture capital company that likes to find good game entrepreneurs and launch them....
Luc left because he was feeling entrepreneur-ish....

Does this 1 + 1 = Luc and Bing launching a new game company?

[/ QUOTE ]Depends on their real reasons for leaving, which we'll never know.

If Luc knew the plug was going to be pulled regardless, he might have told the suits where they can shove it, and covered his real feelings with "hey, I'm going to move on and do something new" - and as a side effect TSO closes.

Or... was he given the boot because he failed in making TSO a success, so he covered the real reason with "hey, I'm going to move on and do something new" - and TSO was closed because him and the team failed to deliver what they were expected to by the suits?

As someone else mentioned, he was "in charge" when MCO was closed ... so with this being at least two big failures (I don't know the rest of his history with EA) under his belt certainly wouldn't look that great on a career summary regardless of the reasons they failed.

Hence probably the big 'change of direction'.

Well, thanks Jackiee, nice to be recognized - - here is a copy of those links
.................................
Luc left EA about a week ago...see this link

Also, this gentleman threw in the towel... Bing Gordon

Add to it that to the gaming industry, EA is Dead Meat
............................................
BTW, I am a wizard researcher/editor and I'm looking for a job, maybe EA is hiring? (gag) or mayhaps the fantasy Bing/Luc start-up can throw me some manna? Then again, I am now $80US richer per month than I was yesterday.

Does anyone have Luc on yahoo, I know Lee gave his out but don't know Luc's. I hope he is going to recreate a sim-ish game with Bing. Let's pretend they did, what could they call it?

Luc if you are reading this...please, please, please find us a home where we can work and not have to use rl money to buy game money! And don't forget to send us all a Beta invite!

LMAO! Too bad I couldn't CC a t-shirt for my sim that says that!

It sounds like they are buds- especially since the Bingster wrote a piece on Luc when he left. I wouldn't be surprised to see something with both their names attached in the future. With L + B = BFF written all over it.

OT, Speaking of CC, I wonder how much EA sux stuff will be attempted over the coming months....

"Decisions such as these are never easy and the rationale for closing EA-Land is particularly complex."

This is a quote from Luc from his good bye note. Hopefully the complex situation he was in, was something like a bidding war for his type of services, for this type of game. All EA is interested in is the demographic age group that likes shooting, killing and destruction. So without Luc present, there is going to be no hope for a game like TSO. And EA says people dont like playing games with other people....BS. All their shooting games are multi player games.

So with everyone pitching in with all of their DD. We might get a clear picture of what Lucs next project might be, and what our chances of a TSO type game will be. Maybe Vivaty will be our next home.

just wanted to give everyone the link where I saw that Luc left EA on April 21, 2008. I can't tell you if this is true or not. But here is the Link Moby Games announcement Here is the quote from the article "On April 21, 2008 Luc decided to part ways with EA and respond to the "urge to be an entrepreneur again." A brief history of Luc at EA and penned by Bing Gordon follows:"
