June's BSR, a Misfits of Society Guild open shard event, held on a Friday night for only the 2nd time in this event's history, found another skilled group of archers competing for the coveted crown, an engraved bow, one-million gold, and a seat in the season's end Champion of Champions shoot off.

If a name were to be given to this night's event it could be called "The Cream Does Rise To The Top". Sixteen archers showed up on the warm Friday night. Again not one archer was eliminated during the 1st round, with Morgance Fier showing she will be someone to watch when she posted a robin hood and a 200 score in not only this 1st round but the 2nd round as well.

The 2nd round found the shooters just using it as another 3rd round warm-up, with the exception of Cairn Brega and Maleki ... Two fine shooters who stunned the crowd with twin 30s, although it was later discovered their arrows were from a defective batch that was warped.

The 3rd round began with 14 shooters left. This is a much more difficult round as only 3 bulls eyes will move you forward. One shooter who was temporarily delayed caused a break in the action. Toni Fierce, GM of M!S, called on Sandman, a longtime M!S member and the greeter at the BSR who keeps everyone in line, to entertain the gathering. Well-dressed in his bright white BLING, a crowd pleasing dance ensued and the crowd cheered. When the archers were again ready, a shepherd's crook was used to pull Sandman off the greens and the contest continued.

Six archers advanced to the 200 round with Frigin Azim, Deon, Uverworld, Xel the Ronin, Ahebban and Thanin Quickbeam all in contention. Azim and Ronin were the 200 shooters, and a shoot off was in store for these two. In a wild, arrows all over the place, windy, moving buttes, crowd cheering finish, Frigin Azim edged out Xel the Ronin 170 to 130, and claimed the June prize. As stated earlier that "The Cream Rises To The Top", it should be noted that Frigin Azim is no stranger to winning these events, having won at least four monthly events over the years and a Champion of Champions year ending event.

Please note that M!S apologizes to those who missed the event by arriving late and were not allowed to compete. While any latecomer can still sign up during the 1st round, after the 1st arrow of the 2nd round is launched the entry list is closed. M!S has varied the nights of the event between Friday and Saturday and the starting times a bit to make the BSR available to more archers and any confusion is regretted.

Congratulations to all the shooters and we hope to see everyone at the July BSR, Saturday, July 25th, 8:30 pm Pacific (9:30 pm Mountain, 10:30 pm Central, 11:30 pm Eastern), at the Skara Brae Faire Grounds.
