hile wandering along the peaceful waterfront of Buccanner's Den, I heard my staff strike an object with a 'clunk'ing noise. Upon investigation, it turned out to be a bottle, half-hidden in the sand.

Unfortunately, the original contents were long gone, but there were a few rolled up scrolls inside, kept dry by the merits of the large cork in the neck of the bottle, and a small fragment of phoenix eggshell within.
Strangely, the writing on the scrolls was in Braille. Wondering at this, I started reading the first of the three, that I may translate it to the common text for you good folk.

I've been searching the seas for my wife, Katharine, for several moons now. Only recently have I discovered where she's being held by you Insolent Mortals.
With my fleet of ships, I mean to sack the city that holds her and retake my Bride.
On the 25th day of this month, the Pirates of Sosaria shall leave a wake of bodies in our path.. and perhaps rebirth a few new Vampires in the process.
Challenge us? Its possible. Defeat us? Unlikely.

I have taken the Insolent called Exodus aka Cybernickel into my custody and will take his chests of treasure with me as well once I've rescued my wife from you disgusting Mortals.
Don't fool yourselves in to thinking this will be an easy task. First you must find the City which holds my wife. Then fight off my crew of Pirates and comrades in order to receive a clue as to where I might be sailing next.

This confused me greatly. How could whatever wave-swept person tossed this into the sea know that I would find it?
And, why write it in Braille? But, the arrival of my good scribe Beatrice solved that mystery,as she told me of a shadowy figure in a tricorne hat who she had seen some way down the beach, leaving bottles in my path!
Apparently he was becoming most frustrated as I missed first one, then another, and yet another!
This message was recent, and the sender wanted it to be noticed!
So, it seems good Cybernickel is in peril, as are several others!
Some, I know, will rush to their aid. Others will be less quick to lend a hand - but to those less noble individuals, I hasten to point out that his captor is in posession of the contents of Cybernickel's store houses. Ah, I thought that might get your attention.
Good hunting to ye! I am sure that more information will appear shortly!
And, don't forget to stock up on, and drink plenty of, sea sickness potions. They're the green ones, I'm told.
