Are there advantages to waiting to smelt large quanties of (higher end) ore than to just smelt as you (mine) go along? In the past 3 weeks of mining, I have noticed that while I mine with my fire beetle I see others just recalling in and digging and recalling out over and over again. I am wondering if there was something I was not understanding about mining and perhaps I need to change my method. I don't think I have much problem with smelting but perhaps that I fail on gold much too often (105 mining with gloves).

There is not an "advantage" to mining large quantities of ore and then smelting. In fact, it may be detrimental, as you stand to loose half of those 1000 Valorite large ores you saved up, all at once.

The reason you see people recalling in and out, is that they are most likely using that unmentionable/Illegal 3rd party program to do thier mining.

Check the new FAQ; it discusses this very issue.

That is sooo inaccurate. I know alot of people that dont script that mine from runebooks just like that. And they are not using any illegal 3rd party program. Its called runes in a runebook. Now granted there are a few illegal scriptors out there mining like that. But alot of people mine that way and dont use any programs.

Forgot to talk about the smelting issue. But that was handled from previous poster. I will say this though. I have noticed that as long as I smelt the low end ore first then the high end ore. I have a greater chance of not failing to smelt the higher ores. Its like you warm up by smelting the low stuff first.
