newbie durability ?

ok so i really dont understand how to prevent durability loss?

im using legendary contract deed to repair my items and i keep loosing durability on my items, is there any way to prevent this. i paid good for some of these thigns and their dura is getting low, id like some help understanding the system please!. thanks.

Items lose durability depending how often you take damage.
For example , melee fighters lose durability on their weapons and armor way faster than a mage does.

Leather armors seem to lose durability faster than metals.

You can't prevent item damage, it just happens.

If your armor is getting damaged, spend some of that gold you've been making on Powder of Fortification. This will add a permanent durability of 10 to any weapon or armor, and it has 10 charges. A full powder can give a weapon +100 dura.

Also, items with the mod Self Repair # repair them selves over time.

Even a legendary (insert skill here) has a chance to lose durability to the item they are repairing. The way around this is to buy some powder of fortification from another player (player vendor). This wonderous stuff will add 10 durability to an item for each charge used. A full jar has 10 uses or 100 durability. Depending on your shards economy a full jar sells from 60K-150K. If you want to aquire PoF yourself it can be obtained by doing smithing BOD's.
