Newb question: oak boards to raise fletching/bowcraft?

I've not yet started to raise skill in fletching/bowcraft but found 60k boards at a decent price. However, the boards are "oak" - will that suffice to raise the skill? Or do I need a specific skill level to use a specific wood type??

Yep, 65 skill....

And, eventually I hope to get back to work on the FAQs (there's a couple little bits left of the Tailor FAQ, then the massive rewrites of Tinker and carpenter, to go).
