[Treasure Hunting] New to treasure hunting; template opinions needed!

94 Myst (+26 on ring and bracelet combined) (120 total)
120 spellweaving
120 imbuing (only because this char has the skill)
76 mining (I will wear +5 gloves when digging and change after I find the chest?) (81 total; this will allow a radius of 3 tiles)
100 lockpicking
100 cart
40 magery (+15 on spellbook, +26 on ring and bracelet combined, +5 on treatise on alchemy trinq) (86 total - I believe this is maximum needed to successfully cast invis spell?)
70 meditation (+30 on ring and bracelt combined) (100 total)

My spells I will use are protection, Stone Form, Arcane Empowerment, Rising Col, and invis spell.

I will be an elf or human; not sure yet; elf will allow my energy resist to be alot higher though JOAT is kinda nice. Thoughts from experienced tmap hunters?

Once I find the chest, how many digs do i have before I dig it up and the spawn comes?

Anyone know of a treasure map library on Atlantic?

I plan on doing mostly level 5s in felluca.

I plan on having MR, LMC, LRC armor, and Mana increase armor along with 1/5 casting - tho i plan on using prot so as long as I have 5 or 6 recovery I should be alright.

Is it possible to set a macro using invis pots for when the monsters spawn? Instead of casting the invis spell? Which is better?

Any approved programs out there useful at finding the correct location? Such as Ultima Mapper or UOCART?

Do the mining quest in New Haven to get Jacob's pickaxe - +10 mining - saves you 10 points for something else

Also for the magery just to cast invis. Using a scroll to cast allows for success at a lower skill level. If I remember scrolls had 20% success bonus over just casting out of a book.

Before the 120 magery having a stack of EV scrolls was a boon.

Warpig: Actually, scrolls use the casting difficulty of a spell two levels lower. So a 6th level spell scroll is treated as 4th level for the chance of success.

That said, marking at a distance of 2-4 screens away, precasting recall or sacred journey, and targeting the rune as the spawn pops (not an option on SP) provides a greater survival chance than casting invis, if the caster gets lagged (as the lag often leads to a reveal or a spell hitting that disrupts the invis, like poison or mana drain/vampire).

I've never posted my T-Hunter template but based on most of them I have seen here I think it is somewhat unique.

Fishing 120 (stoned and replaced with mining 100) I hate "searching for just the right spot"
Cart 100
Lockpicking 100
Archery 100
Tactics 75 (100 with gear)
Anatomy 85 (95 with gear)
Healing 70 (85 with gear)
Chivalry 70 (80 with gear)

I use a rotating arsenal of Slayer Repeating x-bows imbued for max speed and damage. If you've never used a reapeating x-box with high end SSI you should give it a try. Its like a full auto rifle. Down side is low damage so high DI is needed and combine this with the right Slayer and Chiv Enemy of one. Can solo L6's but they take a very, very long time, so I tend to stick to 5 and lower.

Its very easy to switch from Treasure HUnting to Fishing and back and they complement each other so well.

Besides the skill buffs from your kit you will want some mana regen and increase. I also like lots of hit chance and DI from jewelry.

Its not for everyone but I love it and it works best if you have several bottles of ale in your back pack!

I thought the "new" system was random and libraries no longer worked. Do you have general areas marked or specific spots?

General books. It's always good to be able to recall close to the spot, than having to hoof it (for example, an Isamu-Jima map can be a long, deadly, run from the moongate, if it's higher up than the sleeping dragon spawn).

Ive realized this this weekend while dong a lot of maps and have started putting one together... Though I dont like Tok too much, the regular spawn kills me! Trading Tok maps for same level map of any other faucet!

Yes with the 3 Rune books I can usually pop in somewhere close. As far as the Tok maps, I usually just let them sit and reset till they are somewhere with less spawn. I do the same with maps that are keyed to swamp locations...swamp areas make me sad and laggy.

I did my first swamp one in illsh yesterday. Think Ill let those sit from now on too. Nothing like 2 paragon plague beast lords and a paragon bog thing to plan a complex ambush on you just as the guardians pop.

You want to talk ugly, try a Tokuno Level 6 in the middle of the evil mage & rune beetle spawn on Isamu-jima, west of the Sleeping dragon spawn - especially if at the edge of the tree line by the coast, so you lose half of your directions to run away from the chest because of the ocean.
