I just got back to game after long break. The sampire and other warrior style templates are totally new concepts to me and even though i have been doing alot of research on the matter. I am still not 100% sure how to go about it. I have 100 Lumberjack and was thinking of going down that route with swordsmanship as a sampire.

My main question is why are necro and chiv skills needed? And since being a necro means you have to use LMC or reagents, what are the major spells needed for the necro part? Do have to have LMC or use reagents to fight with necro spells?

Any other info will be great.

Thanks in advance

Dear god all those names are awful.

Necro is needed for vampiric embrace/wraith form. Nothing else, unless you add spirit speak and want to use other spells.
Chivalry is needed for recalling, enemy of one, divine fury, consecrate, stuff like that.

First off welcome back :) If I were you I would bury my head in the wealth of knowledge here on stratics because despite you saying you have done a lot of research on the matter that can't be accurate by the questions that you have asked. Best of luck digging around, you will find a lot of useful information.

Thanks for responses. I am mostly confused on the necro/chiv part. I see templates with necro at 99 or other ones and chiv at 50-70+. So it got me thinking what is the purpose of that. Note I never really played a necro or a paladin. I am mostly played tamers, bards, mages and never really tried warrior templates. I also see honor kills, and I honestly don't know what that is, but I read about it and nothing explains what is that. I read alot so I have to recollect what I know from the past and how the game actually changed too. All these terms and acronyms are really new to me. But I am slowing learning what SSI and others mean lol.

Ya when I first came back last year after an 8 year break all the new terms & acronyms (to me) had my head spinning for a month or so.

Most sampire templates will take necro to 99 for vampiric embrace. That is how the traditional sampires heal themselves. You will carry around the three regs to cast that so you won't need a lrc suit.

Chiv is generally anywhere from 60-75ish for the most part but some like lynk have it even in the 50s. All depends on what you are trying to do and your play-style.

Thanks for that, I will start working on it now :)

Necro is needed at 99+ to stay in Vamp Form otherwise you come out of the form in a few seconds.

People usually have their Chivalry at whatever points they have left over or for 100% success in something, personally I like to have 65 but usually end up having 70 anyway, 65 is for 100% success casting Sacred Journey and skills that have a lower skill requirement than that. The 100% success point for each spell for Chivalry is the minimum skill (tells you in the book) +50.

People carry regs or scrolls for Vamp Form, but the best option is to have some insured Arcane Boots, these have around 20 charges and let you attempt to cast (when equipped) at one charge per cast. Sampires (when played well) don't die often so don't need to cast it very often.

Almost everything else from Necro requires Spirit Speak as a modifier (similar to how Magery needs Eval), Spirit Speak affects the amount of Mana you drain when in Wraith Form, people use that in combination with Curse Weapon, for that it is better to carry the regs as you may need to cast it often. It tells you what regs are needed in the Necro book.

The general idea of both is you use the heavy damage dealing of Bushido combined with the leeching abilities of Necro. The harder you hit the more you heal for. You also heal faster than with bandages as you can hit every 1.25s but only bandage every 4s. The leeches also heal you through things that block bandages like Mortal Wounds and Poison.
