Not sure if there is a better place for posting game suggestions, but I haven't been able to find one and I'm bursting with this idea:
Martial Arts
Unarmed combat has long been a nearly useless skill, only good for mages who need to not get hit while holding a spellbook. I think uo needs a REAL unarmed combat. Martial Arts would be the main skill in a new character template, the monk. Martial Artists would not use weapons of any kind, but instead the martial arts skill would impart the ability to use special moves called stances (or something). Most of the stances would be available at fairly low levels of the skill, but as you improved, their effectiveness would also improve.
The kind of things the stances would do are:
Damage Increase
Hit Spell Effects
Defence Chance Increase
etc.
At higher skill levels the monk would be able to have more than one stance active at a time.
I think it would be cool if the stances were called by names of actual martial arts styles. Like Dragon stance would be Hit Fireball or Hit Fire Area, maybe Hit point regen or something. Anyways. Also, each time you hit an opponent and your stance activates a speciall ability, it consumes a small (very small) amount of mana. Like 1 or 2 maybe. But, instead of Tactics being a damage support skill, it would be Meditation, or Focus, or even both maybe.
Anyways, I think this would be extremely cool and hope the devs will have a look at it.
