Am I missing something ?? they dont seem to drop anything worth taking really about the same as other monsters on same level whats the point ?

There's a rare drop from each that together form the components of a 'whetstone'. I'm afraid I haven't yet written this up, I don't have full details on how that works yet.
The components are: Quartz Grit, Corrosive Ash and Cursed Oil stone.

rumor has it it takes off the DI increase so there is an extra slot available for imbuing. I believe it is on only exceptional weapons made with iron ingots. Don't quote me on this, like I said, rumor has it.

I wish we could pick which mod we could remove from an item.Not that I don't love seeing a nice weapon with 1% energy resist taking up a slot.

@Wizal: well, it seems you know how to gather them but have you actually used one? What happens if you doubleclick it? You get a message? Targeting cursor?

I don´t have one yet, or I would try myself (don t think doubleclicking it should destroy it).

So for the second level I need to be a mage to cast teleport, am I reading that right?

The first altar’s guardian is a Quartz Elemental which appears at the end of a nearby off shoot from the main passage. The second altar summons a Flame Elemental Guardian, appearing in a secluded area over the river accessible only by teleport. Summoned by the third altar is a Wind Elemental Guardian.

I dunno if they ever said their placements would be random, but so far they've been static, and mainly you'll need a teleport scroll (if you're human the Jack of Trades will cover it nicely, if not, the the appropriate skill and/or jewelry) or ring (of you still have one) to get to where the level 2 champion creature is located.

shadow jump works as well (should your template go more into this direction).
And yes, the bosses have always spawned in the same location for me, on all levels...

Where does the wind elemental guardian spawn please?

South east ish of the entrance.

He's in the little enclave but he is sourounded by 15 other mobs [its hard to do]

What i did was use my sammy to honor himself, run in tag the boss and run west along the side of the lake and hide/invis.

He moves so fast you should be able to get him on his own

Yes, you just get a targeting cursor, and don't worry you can't waste it as it doesn't work on non-valid targets.

I believe it's Point B, at least the one I spawned was there.

nasty! When I did the dungeon 'tour' on test center there were 3 bloods and 3 poison eles in that bit of corridor.

Yes Petra, it is always point B for the Wind elemental.

And running skills are required, but since it moves at paragon speed (or at least close to it), you will lose any unwanted company while you drag it to a different corner of the dungeon....

I embrace honor virtue when I go into that corner to get it and drag it out. That area is usually swarming with other elementals which makes it dang near impossible to fight it right there, and even if you do try to drag it out, they will all cast on you at once and surely take you down to nothing very quickly.

Scrolls let you cast spells as if you were 3 levels higher. So teleport being a level 3 spell means basically anyone should be able to cast the teleport spell with a scroll. No magery needed.
