New Player Manual - Anyone know little known CC game commands?

Can anyone who knows old CC game commands like control-Q for text repeats and alt-left click for follow post them here? I'm going to putter about with writing a basic manual for new players for the CC that perhaps Stratics will sticky to the top of Uhall. I'll leave an EC manual to EC experts.

CC or EC you can still copy something out of game and paste it in-game with Ctrl+V. Which includes all the codes bought from the store.

Alt+I for Inventory or your Backpack
Alt+R for the Map
Tab toggles you in/out of war mode as does Alt+C

Most of the commands in the CC work in the EC except Follow because there is no way to do that in the EC unfortunately.

Control and Shift for a list of every item visible (up to a limit)

Q to show all names (but this may be a macro I've set myself. Not sure!)

ALT-O will open your options. Look at the bottom left tab for your macros.

Saying the words "guilds" will bring up the guild menu

Holding Shift while Buying something will buy All of that item from the Npc.

Alt+Enter will toggle you in and out of Full Screen

Control-q scrolls through what you've typed newest -> oldest
Control-w scrolls through oldest -> newest

but you can go ahead and write something up as well. It will not be stickied at UHall - but will most likely go into the new article system we are implementing for the forums.

Good to hear. I won't waste time duplicating your work. Got a topic you need written up or reviewed? I've got plenty of free time and worked quality control for a living years back. I'm rather good at it and view quality as good or bad without any grey area in between. 'Close enough' falling into the bad category.

I typically play artisan/gatherer and lean towards the low end and moderate hunting so I'm into the play many new players will be encountering. I play mages and don't hunt melee so I'd be no help there.

It will be nice to have a good CC manual available. I've wondered how many of the newbies who have come to check out this old game have gone to the UO.com website, seen the 'Enhanced' Client and chose that to download instead of what must be the older client and ran into the same qualities and gotten the same impressions of the EC that we who went back to the CC did. Only they went on to another game.

stablecount - gives max stable slots/used up stable slots

I don't know exactly what they do or if they are relevant at all, but -releasemem and -reducecpu. They are actually UOA commands but they still seem to work.

I just tried -reducecpu and got a ReduceCPU = On, typed it again and got a ReduceCPU = Off.

Long ago you could say the NPC name followed by the word "move" and the NPC would take a step away from you. It was really helpful when you were in Fel and an NPC was blocking your path. At some point in time it broke and doesn't work anymore. Now the NPC just says "Excuse me?". blah.

You can drop a pile of coins on the banker and he will deposit it in your bank.

Not sure if this still works...but you used to be able to feed gold to a dragon to make your pet 'wonderfully happy' (instead of feeding them raw meat).

Not sure if this works anymore either ... but ... you could give pertinent items to an NPC to gain karma. For example, you could give scrolls to a Mage NPC. "Thou art giving me a recall scroll. I thank thee." If I remember correctly, the karma gain would only happen if your toon's karma was low.

I remember when you could talk to the NPC and they would tell you which way to the Bank... But at some point they took away most of that stuff. Why I don't know it was awesome. Sometimes they will move still but most times they don't anymore.

As for Dragons and Gold that's how you know if you have an old Dragon. Old Dragons and WW will still eat gold and are happy. Dragons and all "meat" eatting pets will eat Ham, sausage, chicken cooked... they will NOT eat ribs cooked but will eat them raw. Picky eaters... They will also eat legs, torso's, brains and such from mob loot. Infact they love it.

NPC's will always say "Thou art giving me ____. I thank thee." If you hand them a book labeled ________... This can get pretty amusing... Sometimes they will tell you they don't want that. Which can also be amusing.

@Lord Frodo - thanks, and yes, I am aware of what is in Stratics, including some of the oldest content not viewable to the world right now. Not saying Petra's vast knowledge isn't awesome (and she rebuilt the uo2 Stratics herself with the team) - but I've been around since 1997... ayuh... just real quiet like I be.

you'll find all of the commands under macros in game, just go through them.
