For those who read the "New player demands red-carpet entrance" thread last week, I feel obligated to follow up with some news, however grave. EA Games Support finally responded to my third support message regarding an issue with the UOGamecodes.com website that has prevented New Account Codes from being sold to anyone except existing account holders. EA's message was terse, clear, and sadly, unfavorable for the community.
Owing to retrospect, I have deleted the remainder of the original post. I will continue to use official channels in order to notify EA/Mythic of the issue, and will hope for the best. There are communication barriers between EA Games and its customers. It can sometimes be frustrating to receive formal responses after reporting a serious purchasing issue or other problem. I think it should be okay to discuss these problems on UO Stratics, even in relation to said communication barriers. But the discussion should be focused, not a rant.
