New player curious where to go!

A friend who used to play this game years ago recently started up again, and brought me into playing with him. I've been enjoying myself so far, but I'm curious where I should go and what I should do. I'll admit, I fear wandering around a bit..!

Lately, I was shown the Arctic Ogre Lord in the ice cave/dungeon, and playing a mage, I've kind've just been killing him over and over for the sake of training and getting a bit of gold. I currently have magery at about 105 (with jewelry), Eval Int at 80, and Focus/Meditation both at about 95. I have Spell Resistance at about 50, and no other skills chosen yet. I'm...kind've just going off my friend's knowledge of what he did in the past, and not sure what may have changed.

Where should I go to have a bit of fun, look around, explore, hunt, and so on? Where might I be capable of straying or risking? =>

Actualy, go anywhere you like to go. :)

Exploring is part of the fun. There will always a risk of getting killed but thats the only way yo learn what you can handle and what not. Maybe you can explore the Tokuno Islands a bit and kill what you see, who knows you can get a Treasure of Tokuno (while it still last).


Thats whats nice in UO. You can do and go wherever you like if you don't mind taking some risk. Just make sure you insured!

If you can manage to kill the Arctic Ogre Lords, then I would suppose you can try the Painted Caves next and have a ball slaying the Trogs (Just avoid going to deep the Cave The Lurg and pet Grobu spawns there).

Now I do hope you have savored the joy of killing The Impaler Dreglor at Haven too a must for all newbies. Have a wonderful time on UO.

Check out what EM events are happening on your shard,meet new people and go on from there.

If you haven't been collecting Treasures of Tokuno, then you Must do that NOW. The last day of that event is July 31. Minor artifacts will fall into your pack when you kill stuff in Tokuno. Later you exchange 10 minors for a major and there are a few very desirable majors. See this thread ToTs

Where to hunt...
Take a public gate to Makoto-jima in Tokuno and head north-west to the big desert. Kill everything there.
