New Pirates in the Booster

I barely have enough time to play UO anymore much less scour the boards for info. I apologize if this question has an obvious answer but I have not seen this information posted in the little bit of searching I have done.

I understand that there are new NPC pirate ships that will be part of new quests to get the captains of these ships. My question is how the heck is someone supposed to get the bounty they are looking for when anyone on the high seas could sink the target of another bounty hunter?

As long as I"m asking questions I'd also like to know if the fishing power scrolls will be like the imbuing power scrolls in that they are obtained from fishing quests.

Cheers!

The way the Pirate bounty was working on test, was you weren't after a specific Pirate,You were after any of the Pirates on the Bounty board. Meaning any pirate that you find you can capture or kill and receive the reward. as far as the PS, I never received one in all the testing that I did. So I cannot tell you about that.

Would be interesting to know how the pirste AI is.
For the reward I guess it is like the old bounty boards. Anyone on it you can get a reward for.

How do you "capture" a pirate? Is there some point in his taking damage where you get a gump that says the npc is willing to surrender? At that point you what? Tie him up with a tinker made rope? Put him in your backpack? Throw him in the cargo hold of your new ship? Throw him in a rowboat and tow him behind your Tokuno Schooner? Open a gate and march him at the point of your dagger to the docks? If you collect him in Fel, do you run the risk of being ganked and having your npc looted? Or can you insure him? How do you disarm what I assume is an armed NPC? I don't want him in my cargo hold with a weapon! Not to mention my backpack.. imagine the damage he could do in there with a cutlass!

I have read about capturing the pirates somewhere. There are 3 stages of boat damage at the last stage you can board the ship and somehow get the captain. You are given the rope for tieing him up when you accept the quest. If you blast the heck 5out of the ship and kill the captain you get some kind of proof in your pack (can't have heads anymore) and can turn that in.

*You receife a certificate of a sumken Pirate*
This letter confirms that Pirate Yellowcloak was rightfully sunk by yours truly and that ypu can get the reward from any harbormaster.

:p

I rather would use his head as proof though.. mayke it with no blood

If the pirate's hitpoints are lower than a spciefied percentage (like 10%), you can use a pirate bindin' pole on him/her that is placed on your backpack upon accepting the quest. There is a pirate bindin' pole on the ship, again placed on your ship upon accepting the quest. All of these information comes from a tester who didnt even caught a pirate (myself). But I'm pretty sure Cailleach caught some during the test.

Nimuaq is correct. to capture the Pirate, Cail and myself had to beat them down to right at 10%. then use the Pirate bindin' rope to tie them up then they are put on the Pole and you have to transport them to the market. on one occasion our ship was scuttled and we were moving slowly, and we tried heading for land to do some repairs. Well, to our dismay the Pirate escaped while we were repairing the ship.

Yeah, but our cunning plan would have sorted that. If we'd ever actually gotten the chance to implement it :p
