New Lineage 2 Forum Software
<p> Many players who follow the discussions on the Official Forums know that there have been discussions regarding the updating of the software that is used to run them. Today, Siren announced the update, and it's closer than we thought: </p> <blockquote> <p> <em>On Wednesday, November 19, the Lineage II message boards are going to be changed over to vBulletin. The migration is going to take place at 10:00am CST. The expected downtime is five (5) hours. During this time, no one will be able to read or write to the boards. The forums will be totally inaccessible. </em> </p> <p> <em> Once the boards come back up, we hope you will enjoy the new layout and functionality. Listening to some of the concerns I've seen on the boards of late, I've put together a small list of things to you may want to know about the new board.</em> </p> <ol> <li> <em>When the vBulletin boards are launched, the private message storage limit will be unrestricted. <strong><u>However, only PM's received in the last 6 months will be transferred over to the new boards</u></strong>. So anyone who has PM's that are older than 6 months should manually archive them, if they wish to retain that information.</em><em> <br /> <br /> In addition, depending on how the unrestricted storage limit impacts some processes, we may decide to put a limit on this at a later date. We'll let you know if this becomes an issue.</em></li> <li><em>Post count will be transferred over.</em></li> <li><em>Avatar sizes can now be 100x100, however smaller sizes will still be functional. But please note that you will have to re-designate your avatar upon logging in, as current avatars will not be transferred over.</em></li> <li><em>The disciplinary system is changing slightly. Violations are being referred to as infractions. If you receive too many infractions, you will lose many board privileges. Infractions can only be given out by moderators or administrators.</em> </li> <li><em>As login will be linked to your PlayNC account, players with inactive accounts will no longer be able to login to the new vBulletin forums.</em> </li> <li><em>We've revamped the title system, so titles will change slightly. We hope you like the new changes.</em> </li> <li><em>A score of new images have been added to the avatars library in honor of this transition.</em></li> </ol> </blockquote>
