New info on Dread Warhorse

Ok...so back when the dread warhorse's were spawning and I, like many others were snatching them up, I had asked the question: "How much taming/lore do I need to own one. Well, at the time no one could give me a definite answer. On my main tamer I was able to get a-hold of 2 dread warhorses. With a butt-load of jewls and a talisman, and ancient farmers kasa I was able to transfer one of the two warhorses to my secondary tamer. All the buffs put me at 101.0 taming. Well, after a week when I fed the dreaded warhorse I got the message saying: You need to raise your taming for your pet to bond. Ok...so I began my quest of asking "How much taming do I need for my warhorse to bond"? Every single person I asked gave me either a different answer or simply said that they did not know. Now, with all my buffs my animal lore is at 120.0 so I know that my lore is high enough. So began the process of raising my taming. Every single time I went up a gain, I would feed my pet, and get the same message. 102.0 taming = not enough to bond... 105.0 taming = not enough to bond, ect, ect... All the way up to 107.9 taming was still not enough to bond. But then "suddenly" with the joy of getting to 108.0 taming I fed my warhorse and VOILA! The critter bonded. Now, unless different warhorses have different bonding levels (and I doubt that is the case) then the taming needed for a warhorse to bond is 108.0. I even checked uoguide to see what their answer was to bonding, they had a "guess" of 110.0. Well, I'm happy to say that you don't need 108.0 to stable or ride a warhorse, but it does take 108.0 for it to bond. I hope this information helps someone. I know it was an answer I desperately wanted a few months ago. :)

Now...I wonder if there are any plans to ever bring these guys back permanently? Maybe in the bottom of some evil dungeon or at the high end of a champ spawn would be nice. :)

excellent work old bean.

i have a love for those horses.
i tamed well over a hundred of them and tracked all the skills and resists and such and was suprised to see that everyone was too buisy with the greater dragons at the time to fully get into the dread warhorses.
so most of my research went unnoticed with them.

but i had allways wondered about what you needed to bond them.

but your research also brings up another question.

how much does LORE effect the bonding?
if you have 108 taming and 120 lore, would that effect the bonding if say your lore was only 110?
or GM for that matter.

would be interesting to see if you can bond one with GM lore and 108 taming and also with 110 lore if the GM lore didnt work.

to bad we cant test this on test center.

i suppose if someone had one they didnt want we could find a tamer in trainint to test it on.
but the dreads are (or seem to be) in high demand now.

im sure they will bring them back and we can test it then.
and you should bounce this post over to the taming forum as well.

(and look at my dread war horse resist and stat research while your there!!)

I had wondered the same thing about animal lore. I would need to find someone with 108.0 taming locked, and I suppose 99.9 Animal lore and begin testing from there. Erm....and I'd have to be trusting enough to hand over the reins to someone in good enough faith that they'd return the beast...hm. Lot of variables there. Maybe they'll bring them back sometime. *snickers*

Thank you for noticing my post though Poo. :)

Animal Lore has nothing to do with bonding.
Animal Lore only affects your control chance and the amount you vet.
(you can bond with 108 taming and 0 animal lore but it wont obey your commands)

Oh my...I should go test this in test center on um...maybe nightmares. And thank you for the feedback Flutter. :D I'm pretty sure that Test Center still has a "bonding gate" that you can walk through.

Oh and how high your animallore is does affect your stable slots too.
But yea nothing to do with being able to actually tame and bond a creature.

*rubs chin* hmmm, really? This is very interesting. Thank you for the insight. I didn't think with zero lore I'd be able to tame a reptalon, but interesting to know. :)

kind of a misleading statement.

you CAN bond an animal with the minimal amount of taming BUT
(there is allways a but isnt there)
good luck taming it.
and in fact good luck getting it to transfer.
and forget about saying anything to it.

k, lets take for example the Dreadnightmare's

with 108 taming and 0 animal lore you have a 0.2% chance to tame it.
0% chance to command it.

so ya, while in THEORY you can bond it at 108 taming, you would never actually be ABLE to tame one, and transfering one over would be a very difficult thing (the animal dosnt trust that person.... allways a bad message to get when trying to transfer a pet)

so while your information is acurate, its not..... well acurate.
