So far Ive found 3 new types of ruby and amethyst and 2 kinds of citrines. I dont know what to make of these. Some seem to be broken pieces of the larger amethysts an citrines and the rubys all seem to be different colors and all smaller than the original rubys. Are there just deco? I mean with the difficulty in picking thm up off the ground if they were just a deco.... But anyhow once i have 20 of any of them I thinking of running them through the magic jewlery menu and see if it picks them up. LOL

The new gems first appeared when "The Six" arc started. Once you killed them, loot including these gems and the normal ones would fall on the ground. They also dropped a very desirable magical lockbox.

I can't be sure, but I think the Crimson Dragon only drops the gems now. The only time I killed it was in magicia, before the cleanup... I only managed to pickup the normal gems as it was pretty impossible to use shift ctrl to hightlight them due to the debris around.

I wouldn't say the "First" appeared because I've been looking at them in the healer room in doom for years. I believe theres was a christmas event or something that had these gems also.

I think it would be cool to have a display case like in luna and other jewelry shops for gems and weapons

I dont know what they will be used for but i have about 5 or 6 sets of each gem that look different and wont combine with the regular ones.

Only a few gem graphics were implemented as gems in UO, the "new" gems (of which, there are I think about 13 total, including one that looks like (graphically) the ruby already in circulation) scatter uncommonly from the crimson dragons. The rest are the other three gems, but there are a bunch of amethysts, rubies and citrines that you can get.
