Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions on a temple for someone who hasn't PvP'd since before AOS came out. I'm looking for something that's not too difficult to play but can still throw down in the arena and is warrior based (no magery/weaving/mystic). I realize it will take a lot of practice to become good but that's what un-ranked matches are for, right?

Anyhow, I was thinking of something like this.

120 Fencing
100 Anatomy
100 Tactics
100 Resistance
100 Bushido
100 Chilvalry
100 Healing/Focus (not sure which)

I know suits are a big factor and some skills can be raised with jewelry but a good basic outline for an effective melee template is what I'm mainly looking for.

Thanks!

I would swap Nox for the bush if its a pure pvp char.

Hmm, sounds like a good possibility. Interestingly enough, my guy already has poisoning and no Bushido, so I guess that would save some work. ;) Thanks!

Has it come full circle? That is my exact template for years an years dating back to when I started in '99. Used to take forever to raise skill, though chiv replaced healing later. And I even still stink at PvP

Poisoning has undergone somewhat of an overhaul recently, so we'll see what happens with it. (Still in testing, I believe) I had used poison on my characters for years until it eventually petered out in effectiveness. Hopefully the changes will give it a bit of a boost in power.

Early on nox was good because no one really used pots in PvP (I don't understand why they didn't).

Recently PvP has become extremely competitive, and everyone has UOA, so everyone chugs pots now. Poisoning was phased out because of this.

Now poisoning is super strong, and at times takes 6 cure pots just to cure. I went through 7 recently on an alchemist mage with 50% EP from items.

Ouch! Well, hopefully they tone it down a bit so it's not too overpowered.

Anyone have suggestions on a main form of healing? I've always used bandages but Chivalry seems like an interesting alternative with its added versatility.

Chiv can work but you need to get to 4 Faster Casting and 6 Faster Casting Recovery which isn't exactly an easy thing to do.

If you played an old school mage, quick casting techniques apply to all spell schools in UO which factor recovery. I have a 4 FC/2 FCR character that does fine by using quick casting. It gets hairy if I some how get X-fielded and have to heal through multi mage dumps or nox/flame field combinations, but other than that, quick casting will get by in the majority of PvP I encounter.

Thank you Logrus that is always good advice.
