New Dragon problem

When you skin the new dragons they don't give barbed leather and I didn't see scales but I could be wrong.

They also need to be put to 4 control slots, if it means tweaking them a bit oh well, but there is going to be problems with stabling issues basically any tamer that wants one will have have to lose one stable slot. Meaning they will have to keep one empty to bring it in and out.

the whole point is to have it a 5 slot so i highly doubt they will change it down to 4.

The stronger ones were designed to be five slots. I am pretty sure that's what the patch notes say.

I think they should stay at 5 control slots. The 5 control slot aspect of them is a BIG part of the balancing behind them. If you're running your stables so tight that you have to always be riding something or have something out, that's your choice. I don't think other tamers should be punished because you want more 4 slot pets.

I do think it would be good if an entire pack could be combined to use a single stable slot, though. If you don't have a pack on a high-end tamer, there are plenty of stable slots to have one of these dragons. I moved my pack off my main tamer and he has plenty of stable slots to have a few of these now.

As for the resource collection, that's a valid issue.

Don't get insulting, maybe the reason I can't make room is because I have very old pets ones from long before bonding and what not. Also they do not have over 900 hp.

As far as being able to tank, I have used one and they are not that good. Maybe if we had a gate on test that trains them where we can see what a fully trained one would be like then we would know if they are great and or overpowered, Its hard to test a pet when the skills drop down that low.

Maybe they could do that, I had an idea before though about the stabling issue which was control slots did not count when you are in so many tile range of a stablemaster.

I totally get what you are saying, but what the heck do you have in your stables? Mine are full, but that includes 2 ferrets, a squirrel, a chicken and two horses. Any of those can be transferred to other characters if I wanted or needed to.

I get what you are saying. And it's a good catch. Basically it will take two stable slots for a dragon. Let's say you go to train a dragon. You must have all 5 control slots so if you are riding a mare you stable it. If you use your last stable slot you will have no way of retrieving or stabling another pet when you tame your dragon. At this point you will have to release it if you ever want anything out of the stable.

So you will have to make sure you have at least one free stable slot and five free control slots when you goto tame your new dragon. Once you get dragon in the stables you are realatively safe as you can not retrieve it until you have 5 free control slots. Kind of annoying but maybe that's part of the price you pay for said uber dragon.

ride an ethy, charger, or be a ninja

I think its a mistake thinking 5 control slots will slow you down
all you are going to see now is wolves running up and pet balling this massive dragon on top of you.

but thats my opinion

Um ethys an chargers take up control slots the only option would be ninja which i tried on test. I am not really worried about walking its the stable issue.

Sorry I get what your saying now.

alternatively an option to 'switch' a pet? choosing one from your stable list automatically stables the one you have out in exchange?

It doesnt take 2 stable slots, it just forces you to only have as many pets as you have stable slots, that's all, and as it should be really :p If you have 10 stable slots, then you should only have 10 pets, not 11
Or 10 + ethy

It's the way it should be, all your pets should have their own place to sleep

The only balance issue I'm seeing is that these new dragons are designed specifically for people with ninjitsu. They'll be the only ones who will be able to move at mounted speed while controlling a 5-slot dragon.

yeah... I think ninjitsu forms should take control slots, so you can't use pets that are balanced when you're on foot and take away that balancing factor.

Another problem is they will spawn in rikktor spawns, making level 4 near impossible.
