Bored, I was just thinking about in-game content and musing about a few things I think would be fun at some point. Years ago, sometimes you'd be walking down the road and there'd be some huge random spawn that didn't really belong there. Anything from mongbats to liches, really (and at the time liches scared the hell out of me) would just be spawning for a while in some arbitrary location for no apparent reason. There would always be some BNN article about it, maybe some cemetary becoming suddenly overrun or mongbats breeding out of control. Whatever; it was always just enough RP to explain the spawn adequately (keep hitting random article on uoguide if you're curious). It would be cool if they'd start throwing little things like that in again, not relating to any grand story arc or anything, just random happenings in Sosaria. Maybe add imbuing regs to their drop to make it more compelling, since few people just play for fun anymore.
Also, I think it would be fun to have some sort of urban renewal story happening. Pick some random ruined locale-- Montor in ilsh, for example, or that fishing village in Ter Mur maybe-- bump up the spawn, and invite players to keep pushing the spawn back. At the same time or afterwards there could be stations for crafters to work at; they walk up to one of these locations in the city, activate their craft using the usual tool, and craft an item called "restore" over and over, which contributes to the restoration of the city like a cooperative collection. Or maybe just create co-op collection drop points for crafters to contribute parts, miners and LJs to contribute supplies, etc. And eventually, the city would be restored to the point that bankers and vendors move back in, guard zones are established, etc.
I have more thoughts on that, but its getting too long so I'll leave it. I expect the first idea is easier to implement than the second, but I'm just musing, after all.
I'm curious to see what content other people would like to see. Any ideas?
