new char creation

not sure if it goes in this section or not, but making a new bushido elf archer gives you a bow you cant hold because your not strong enough..

im basically sitting here at the bank. trying to work up my str.

if i was new i would be lost.

ok so its been about 30 minutes.. i still cant hold my bow.
i found an axe on the ground.. ive died about 5 times from greater monbats because i cant hit them since i chose archery.

it seems right now im limited to doing those new haven escort quests.. but it still wont raise my str.

if i was a new player i would probably give up by now.

i didnt know making a new char was so difficult..

so ive been playing for more then an hour and the only thing i been able to do is chop logs to sell to carpenters and escort quests..


btw i am 1 str away from FINALLY being able to use my bow.. lol.

What bow did you get? I can not test this due to only one character per account.

it gave me a elf composite. it requires 45 str, but started my char with 40.
i chose samurai then hit customize and added archery to it..

im thinking the samurai and ninja should start with 45 str, not 40..



it has taken me forever to get my str up.. its at 44.
been an hour and half.
i could have just deleted this guy and made a new one, but i was trying to see how it is to make a guy from start as a new player.

This doesn't seem like a bug then at all, since you used the custom character creation. You could have this same problem with any character type depending on your stats and skills that you choose.

Instead, perhaps it would make sense to have a warning gump saying your new character won't be strong enough to hold your starting weapon, or whatever.

They definately should add a warning gump.

Creating new character, especially for a NEW player... IS TOP PRIORITY if Mythic has any hopes of keeping that newbie past the trial period.
That's the gateway to our world. If they can't get past step 2, then they are gone in a minute.
