For PvP bows, consider the lightweight, for the reason you mentioned.

For PvM bows, consider the Slayer Longbow, as the combination of the automatic slayer property and the Runic properties can result in a double slayer (and if you luck into a Demon/any elemental type double slayer, it will be worth a small fortune to persons who go to Doom).

Ok I have been playing on TC for a while now with a archer for PVP. Depending on your pref for type of playing. Here is what I found. I use a balanced composite bow. It is extremely affective. Needs SSI DMI, and a really good secondary spell ( hit lightining) balance is a must if your a pot chugger. With this bow you can AI a person and when they run smack them with running shots. Usually a person with all 70's with low perry and defence chance will go down in 3 to 4 hits. Now if you are a dismounter. A heavy crossbow with the same as listed above works well also. Dismount them and as they run smack them with running shot. If you fancy dismount char I would suggest putting ninja on it so you can animal form and run if you get in trouble. My experiance with a short bow was useless in PVP unless your opponant is not around others, that bow does not do enough damage without using its speacial. And the best special it has is a area affect special that will hit others if they are grey or red to you. Now a reg crossbow with SSI DI and a gound spell works well for the first hit does alot of damage if you conc. them. Then as they run off switch to a composite or heavy with running shot. just my 2 cents worth. :)

yeah a composite bow for pvp is what i need.
i did make 20 lightweight shortbows for the balanced property, but i didnt make anything worth while using a yew kit.

with archery any kits below the heartwood i guess are useless.
you get 3 mods with the yew kit and its almost guranteed one will be mage wep and the other one will be some type of resists, or elemental dmg spread and out of all 25 charges only 2 bows had SSI above 25 using ash wood :(

the reward on these things isnt worth the 18+ hours it takes to get one. :(

One of the reasons I suggested the slayer longbow for sale to PvMers...

complementary double slayers (like the Demon/any elemental subtype for doom), don't even need any DI, the way that the slayer property works, IIRC.
