I just recently returned to the game(yay!).... Well anyways I was wanting some info on todays kind of templates. Are they pretty much the same as days of old? I was wanting to make a provoker. But i was thinking of making a Provoker/Pally or something like that, because I have one char with GM Anatomy, GM Healing, GM Swords, and GM Tactics.... So I have that work off the basis with. But what do you guys think would be the best way to go?

And also are the new skills like the ninja and bushido stuff woth anything?

Thanks!

A bard/swordsman/pally. Interesting idea. I'm curious as to how that would work. I'd guess the most effective template would be something like this:

Swords
Tactics
Healing
Anatomy
Music
Provoke
Chivalry

GM in each of those would give you a total of 700 points. Maybe another 20 to put on a scroll depending on the age of your account.

Personally, if I were using your char as a starting template, I'd pass the bard skills up in favor of the Chivalry and some scrolls (maybe a 120 on both swords and tactics)

Yeah I might just do that. I was wanting to incorporate archery at some time. Do I need anything like Bushido though? Is that like the norm for warriors nowadays?

It seems to be a popular choice these days. Personally, I have yet to really see the extra benefit of using Bushido or Ninjitsu. My main character is a Pally Swordsman. My secondary is a Stealth Fencer. I don't do many high end spawns (I actually just attended my very first champ spawn about 2 weeks ago), but my fencer did just fine and he's not even 100% finished with his template yet either.

It all really depends on your playstyle. I am a melee fighter. You stick me on an archer or mage (or anyone who's not supposed to be in the thick of battle) and I'm lost. Just about all my characters are designed so I can run into the mob until I'm neck deep and then worry about fighting my way out. As it stands I only have archery on my bard, but she's not very developed in either skill sets. She's just kinda mothballed at the moment.
