NEED. HELP.

I can't seem to to gain even a .1 in stealing. I've got pack animal in Fel, in a guard zone, guarding me, NPCS are around, and I cant gain one point. Ive tried stealing stacks of 20 bottles, tried stealing stacks of 1000 gold. Can't gain a point.

What am I doing wrong?

I trained outside the guard zone. Maybe that'd make a difference.

What is you skill level in stealing? If it isn't 100, you shouldn't be stealing 1000 gold or a 20 stack of bottles... remember to be stealing 10% of stones according to skill level... so.. 50 skill is 5 stones... 35 skill is about 3.5 stones...

I had the same problem. It's that you are trying to steal stackables. Try stealing a single item that weighs the appropriate amount. Like a kryss weighs 6 stones, 60 skill. I have trained it both ways and recently the old method wasn't working. Just find a weapon or armor piece that weighs the right amount and steal it. Maces and platemail is how I got it to 110 or so.

I use a bonded Blue Beetle and stacks of bandies *in my house in fel and in a guild and in the thieves guild* and i get pretty consistent gains. Just use 60 bandies for 60-70 skill, 70 bandies for 70-80 skill, etc.

Something we did [way back] but may still work, take a pack with bandaids, go to the Buc Den Smith shop, stand over the pack and steal aids from it. We did our training in Tram there.

I got bored training my thief on the packy, so Iate a scroll (110 was all I had), jeweled up to about 105 skill, and started heading to doom, the dojo, the yamamatsu (or whatever they are called) mines and started taking stuff. i have been getting very good gains doing this, and it is much more fun.

PS. I was even happier when the very 1st time I went into doom and tried this, I found the titan's hammer!!!

I've noticed a lot more DOOM loot because no one is there anymore, everyone is going after the SA loot...
