Hallo,

I have been trying at the eamythic Account Management page to try change the e-mail address used so far by it and the UO account linked to it, but fruitlessly.

For the life of me, I could not find anywhere within the Account Management page a way to be able to change the e-mail address. I found how to change the password, but not the e-mail address....

Anyone can help ?
Thanks.

Popps I think the key is to unlink it first.. then you can link to a new address.

There is some information here on the Origin site (http://help.ea.com/en/article/how-to-change-your-origin-account-s-email-address/) about how to change the e-mail address for your Origin account. Since your Origin account does keep track of your UO subscription payments under the "Order History," it may be that changing the e-mail address for your Origin account might also update it for purposes of logging into the Mythic Entertainment Account Management system. Maybe. Or they might actually be separate. We've never been given clear enough information to really know for sure.

Also, this help page on the Origin site lists what you can change for yourself on your Origin account: http://help.ea.com/en/article/edit-or-remove-account-information/ .

I have never unlinked an account from an eamythic address..... is there a chance that unlinking an UO active account might make it inactive and I loose whatever subscription is already paid for and worse, find my House in UO become condemned ?

My UO account is on the 6 months cycle for subscription and I still have a few months to go before the next 6 months cycle.

I am afraid that, should I unlink the UO account from the eamythic account with the e-mail address which I do not want, make a new eamythic Account address with the new e-mail that I want and then link the just unlinked UO Account to the newly created eamythic Account with the new password, something might go wrong and I might end up with an active UO account with still months paid for, become inactive all of a sudden.

Should this happen, I am worried not only to loose paid for months of subscription, but also to find my House condemned with all that this might mean.....

So, I am reluctant to even think to try such a solution unless I know for sure that in no way this would make my UO active account become inactive at any point of this unlinking and then re-linking process to a different, newly created eamythic Account Management address with a different e-mail password.

But how can I get this guarantee ?

I just want to change an e-mail password, I would have expected it to be as easy as to delete the old one and write in the new one.........

Ok, I am lost now.

Why do you talk about logging on Origin when it was my understanding that my UO account was through the eamythic Account Management web site ?

I checked the first link you pointed me out, and there is a line that says "to change your email address, get started by logging in to Origin, either through the Client or through the Store".
Now, the Client would be the UO Client ? At least starting up the UO Classic Client I have no option to log into Origin..... and which login name and password should I use anyways ? I have login and password for the eamythic Account Management but for Origin ?
Not to mention the "Store"..... how would I change my UO/eamythic Account Management e-mail address by accessing the Store ?

I do not understand the differences between EA Account, Origin Account, eamythic Account Management.....
Are they just one and the same ? Do they all have the same login and password ? Are they 3 different things ?
But if they are different, why would I want to go into the Origin account to change the e-mail for my eamythic Account management and for my UO account ?

My head is exploding...........

I believe that the "Origin client" is a platform similar to Steam that you are required to run in order to play some of EA's games, not including Ultima Online.

As I mentioned before, I'm not sure if the master account you log into when you visit the Mythic Account Management site (i.e., kind of the "parent" account that encompasses one or more of your UO accounts and looks like an e-mail address) is one and the same as the account you log into when you visit the Origin site.

I strongly suspect that these "structures," for lack of a better term, probably ARE one and the same thing, since the account you access via the Origin site maintains a history of your UO subscription payments. However, I think you are limited in what you can do with any such "account" depending on whether you are accessing it through the Mythic Account Management site or you are accessing it through the origin.com site.

For example, if you log into your "master account" on the Mythic site by entering the e-mail address and password, you're able to manage your UO subscriptions and payment methods for those subscriptions, but as you have noticed already, there is no way to change that e-mail address which you use for logging into the "master account." However, if you go to the Origin.com site and log in there using the same e-mail address and password that you used on the Mythic site, you can assign a "persona" to your account (e.g., call it "The Raving Purple Monster") that is independent of the e-mail address assigned to your account and you can apparently change the e-mail address associated with the account as well. However, if you are using the Origin client with that account, you apparently cannot use the origin.com site to change payment information for any EA games that you play through the Origin client; you must make such a change by talking to a customer service representative.

Yes, it's confusing.

I think your best bet is to contact EA and tell them you want to change the e-mail address that you use to log into the Mythic account management site to manage your UO subscription(s).

The original notice we got regarding Broadsword taking over management of UO said, in part, "Electronic Arts will continue to provide billing and account services through its Origin™ portal." This statement, as well as information that is currently available on the Origin site in the Help section ( https://help.ea.com/en/article/uo-my-account-billing-information/ ) make me strongly suspect that at this time, if you were to contact Broadsword for help with managing your UO account, whoever you contact would probably just have to turn around and pass along your request/problem to someone at EA.

The above-mentioned article discussing how to contact EA's technical or billing support departments for help with your UO account was last updated February 4, 2014, which is the exact same day Mesanna published the announcement regarding Broadsword taking over operation, support, and development of UO (http://www.uo.com/article/Producer-Letter-0). It indicates English support is available by e-mailing [email protected] and English support outside North America is available by e-mailing [email protected].

Good luck! If you do manage to get the e-mail address that you use to log into the Mythic account management site changed and it doesn't screw up your ability to manage your UO accounts, could you post and let us know what process you followed?

Popps,

They are all linked together. If you have a credit card in your Mythic Account to pay your subscription, then that same credit card will be listed in the Origin Store to purchase items. If you want to change your email like your original question, then follow Tina's link and instructions, because that is how you change it.

Oh boy, I wished SO much that this UO management was way, but WAY easier to be handled..... I feel like I need a PhD just to deal with my UO Account Management......

Well, I was able, miracolously, to find an old note where I had written the login and password for the Origin web site and I was able to get to the part where I "could" change the e-mail. But I stopped there, because a dilemma troubled me.....

Since the e-mail listed in the Origin Management web site is exactly the same which I need to then log into the eamythic Account Management web site, what happens if I change it at the Origin web site into a different e-mail ? Would it be automatically also changed without me doing anything further at the login of the eamythic Account Management ?

Since I have no idea, and do not know who to ask to for better info (apparently, as Tina mentions, Broadsword might not be able to help with such an issue and I have no clue who at EA would be the proper representative or office to contact......) I stopped there and did not change the e-mail at the Origin Management web site because I did not want to end up with one (new) e-mail for the Origin Management web site linked to my UO account and then still the older e-mail address as required to log in at the eamythic Account Management ......

Anyone has perhaps any experience with this or can point me to someone where I could possibly seek for help for this e-mail change ?

If I were in the situation where I wanted to modify the e-mail address associated with the master account you access on the Mythic Account Management site, I would contact EA at one of the e-mail addresses I listed. That is where I would start. Explain what you want to do and then wait to hear back from them.

Yes, I have done this and you need to know your secret question. It is no different than any other site where you set up a secret question. You "Need" to know the answer.

I do those things all the time... in resume.. if you have more than 2 accounts on the same email and want to change just for 1... you need to unlink that 1 first....

If is not the case.. and you want just to change the email associate to tje account....you have to do on origin website
Would you please post the steps to unlink an account?

UO Houses and Katrena, so if you are able to successfully change your Origin account's e-mail address (after answering the secret question and whatever else is required), is it correct that is the e-mail address you will then use to log on at the Mythic Account Management site? Does EA send any kind of e-mail to your "old" e-mail address to notify you of the change or require you to complete the change by clicking on a link in an e-mail sent to the old e-mail address?

Hi Tina,

I received an email at my old email address that advised me of the change. The email also listed the new email address and told me to check that email for a verification link. I had to use the link in the new email to confirm the new email address. The email I received at the old email address also gave me instructions on what to do if I "had not" made the change. Yes, once you complete the verification, you use the new email address to log into the Mythic Management web site.

Well, I need to understand this part well because my "old" e-mail, the one that I want to change with new e-mail, is dead, and unusable. So, if the process through the Origin Web site requires to do something to validate the change through the old e-mail address, I would not be able to access the old e-mail and click on whatever link and I am afraid this might stuck me.

If instead, changing the e-mail through the Origin Management web site which I can do, having retrieved the login and password (I tried it and was able to get into my Origin Management account) only is done through the "new" e-mail address which I would change on the Origin Management web site, then I should be able to make this change without much trouble.

Thing is, before getting into a mess I would prefer to just be 101% sure....

Can you please confirm, if you have done this e-mail change, that once the e-mail address is changed at the Origin Management web site then the old e-mail is dropped and needed for nothing because the validation for the change is done through only the "new" e-mail address ?

Also, once the e-mail address is changed at the Origin Management web site, the system automatically forwards the change, without me doing anything, to the eamythic Account Managament system to change the login from the old e-mail to the new e-mail ?

That is, that after one makes the change of e-mail address at the Origin Management web site and then launches the eamythic Account Management the login field will no longer need the old e-mail address but the NEW e-mail address just changed ?

Thanks.

Question.

AFTER changing the e-mail address at the ORIGIN Management web site, and going to the above eamythic Account Management login screen, you advice to use as LOGIN the just NEWLY created password at the ORIGIN Management web site.

Is that correct ?

Then, for password, you advice to use "new or current" password.
Now, what this exactly mean ?

That the password that was associated with the old e-mail address (current) would work ALSO for the just newly changed eamythic LOGIN new e-mail address ?

Like if the old and new e-mails address could share the SAME password as in regards to enabling the login for the eamythic Account Management ?

Is that correct ?

Otherwise, AFTER changing the e-mail at the ORIGIN Management web site, "IF" the eamythic LOGIN field automatically changes to the NEW e-mail address just changed at the Origin management web site dropping by itself the "old" e-mail address, WHAT would be the password to be used to then login into the eamythic Account Management ?

NOW to Unlink the Account from Current Mythic Account

Pray to God and send an email to [email protected] and Hope that in 2 weeks or 2 month someone will reply to you!!!

They will ask for the Secret Password for the Question that you choose Back in the days when you created the Account!!!

if you dont remember , YOU will NOT be able to Unlink the Account!!!!

A little Detail that a LOT of people Dont know!!!!!

A lot of people when they unlink the Account, in order to link to a different email you will need the MASTER PASSWORD, this have Nothing to do with the UO Password, is the MASTER password for that specific Account that you are Unlinking!!

If you are NOT sure the answer , BEFORE you unlink the Account, Change, by simple pressing this option!!

View attachment 22334
View attachment 22333

PLEASE REMEMBER!!!

IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN ONE ULTIMA ONLINE ACCOUNT UNDER THAT EMAIL, YOU NEED TO DO THE SAME PROCESS FOR ALL OF THEM!!!

When you change the password for the account that you are unlinking , that Have NOTHING to do with all others account under same email!!!

Question.

Since the e-mail that is set both at the ORIGIN Management web site AND as LOGIN for the eamythic Account Management is dead and I cannot access it, this means that I cannot use the "forgot my Mythic Account password" request because it would be sent out to an e-mail address no longer working.

So, my ONLY option is to FIRST change the e-mail address through the ORIGIN Management web site ?

Would this work ?

I am kinda worried to try anything and end up with a dead UO account because of anything going terribly wrong.....

Popps,

With my situation, when I changed my email, the answer to your question(s) is Yes! I could have done the change with only my new email address, because the new email address had the verification link. Since both my old and new email addresses worked, I do not know what would have happened if the old email did not work.

You are making something so Easy, to complicated lol

If you just changed the email on origin, just log into Mythic with your current email and password!!!
After you log, choose under the drop down menu (if any, or more than 1 account) and locate your ULtima Online account!!
Let's make some examples to better understand, shall we ?

Let's assume, just for the sake of the discussion, that someone's logins, passwords and e-mails are :

For ORIGIN Management Account
LOGIN : UO_accountname
Password : originpassword
e-mail : [email protected]

For eamythic Management Account
LOGIN : [email protected]
Password : eamythicpassword

Now, let's assume that the player logs into ORIGIN, and changes the e-mail address so that we have now the following set up :

For ORIGIN Management Account
LOGIN : UO_accountname
Password : originpassword
e-mail : [email protected]

At this point, what happens for the eamythic login ? Will the set up there AUTOMATICALLY be updated by the system to :

For eamythic Management Account
LOGIN : [email protected]
Password : ?????

Since the eamythic LOGIN changed, what happens to the password to access the eamythic Account Management? Will it STILL be the eamythicpassword used by the former LOGIN [email protected] now changed into [email protected] ?

That is, 2 different LOGINS for the eamythic Account Management would SHARE the same one password ?

If not, AFTER changing the e-mail from [email protected] into [email protected] at the ORIGIN Management page, what would then be the password to use to access the eamythic Account Management when using the changed LOGIN [email protected] ??

Popps,

Based on your examples, I don't think you are really understanding what people are trying to explain to you. The process on how to change your email is very clear in these posts. If you look at the Mythic Account Management web site, you have two ways to login. You can login with either your EA or Mythic Master account. Your EA and Origin accounts use the same email and password. The Mythic Master account uses accountname_UO and password.

Well, at least for me, the eamythic Account Management uses as LOGIN not the accountname_UO as you indicate but rather, the e-mail address which I want to change......

Amd this is perhaps what creates misunderstandings ?

So now I wonder, why is my eamithyc Account Management LOGIN different to that of other players ?

The thing is, that I have heard that sometimes LOGINs cannot be changed, for example, it is my understanding that it is not possible to change the Ultima Online "Client" LOGIN as it is since when the account was created as first.....
Now, if so, how do I know that also for the eamythic Account Management it is not the same and that the LOGIN (which in my case uses the e-mail address which I need to change because no longer working....) for eamythic cannot be modified ?

I am reluctant in attempting any change before I really am sure how the system works as I would not want to mess up something during the e-mail changing process and end up with a dead Ultima Online account with house condemned and all that.....

What I really miss (and would like to have....) is some OFFICIAL guidance from a representative from Broadsword to help players go through all of the Account Management difficulties.

Even if they are not in charge for Account management, the difficulties experienced by UO players with it may affect their willingness to play the game, return to the game etc. so, they might in the end hit the work of Broadsword one way or the other, I am concerned.

What I am trying to say, is that they have probably means which we do not have to contact the right persons in charge for this Account situation and have them sort out the problems and in the time being offer guidance.

It is great to have UO players offering their help and suggestions here but they are not official reps for the game and so, their advice is just from personal experience and opinions.

It is different to follow the guidance and instructions from an official representative, in case following their guidance something might go wrong, then they should also offer the help to correct what might have gone wrong.

Just making an example, the way I see it, if I follow some other player's help to change my UO account e-mail and something goes wrong and the account gets deactivated and my House condemned with all that means, I then am in trouble and have to beg for help from some official, Game master or what not to fix it in a hurry.

If instead I follow official instructions under the guidance of a well identified official representative and something goes wrong, I can then resort to THAT specific official representative to fix anything that went wrong while following the suggested official guidelines.

That's why I'd rather do as an official rep tells me to change my account e-mail rather that tinker about it myself gathering bits of help and advice here and there.....

Problem is, that I would have expected by now someone at Broadsword (Mesanna ?) to have noticed this thread and jumped in offering help and guidance, officially.

So far this has not happened. I am still hoping that they will at some point notice this thread and post offering their help.

Well, at least for me, the eamythic Account Management uses as LOGIN not the accountname_UO as you indicate but rather, the e-mail address which I want to change.........
You can use either one in the same login screen. As I said, "You can login with either your EA or Mythic Master account." So yes, login with the email address that you want to change.

Based on your concerns and wanting some "OFFICIAL guidance", why don't you just contact them?

Popps, I believe that if you upgrade to a Stratics Pro account, you can check to see who has visited the thread. That might at least let you stop worrying about whether or not someone at Broadsword has noticed the thread.
