I am having a hard time with my macros (pvp).

1) What do most people use, UO assist, game macros or something else?

2) Some people have in the same macro cast spell, wait for target and last target. Is this faster than having one macro for casting the spell and one macro for last target?

I did not find the "wait for target" option in uo assist so I guess the person that told me about this is using game macros.

Any help is more than welcome....

Thanks

a macro for casting the spell then another macro for last target is faster. Also, if you setup cast spell wait for target last target you will waste the spell if the target goes out of range.

Picture this scenario:
You have curse pre-casted. You see an enemy. You use your selectnext(mobile) macro. Then last target. At this point you decide to use cast spell(explo) wait for target last target. Your enemy sees your spell and runs, they are now out of range. Now you no longer have a target cursor and you must recast. Against a Mage, the object is interruption. So by making all of your spells only castable within range you are really handicapping your ability to do damage. I hope this helps. Happy hunting. E

Thanks Capt. E, I was wondering about the same thing. Do you group your spells by who you are fighting against (dex or mages etc...) or do you group them using a different concept. It does make sense to group your healing spells and pots toguehter but I was wondering about offensive spells.

All my mages are setup the same. It's just instinct to press a certain button now. It's funny because when I lose my macros and resetup sometimes I will put things in the wrong spot and I will realize it when I start playing. There certainly are different tactics to fighting mages and dexxers. However, my macros are all there. Playing a Mage is one of the most challenging and fun templates in the game in my opinion. Have fun with it.

I have done the same thing. Before I quit I had all my mages set up the same wayand it was second nature where the macros were or what to do in a fight The fact is that I haven't found the best position for the macros in my keyboard.

Quick question,

Could you please mention some combos that are effective against mages and/or dexxters? All my characters have magery, and the one I played the most has necro.

Thanks in advance for your help

I'm not a huge fan of set combos for either type. For mage battles it's about interruption, for dexxers it is timing bandies with poison and high damage output. You have to see what's going on and react.
