Ok... I am having a real problem with killing Irk on my sampire... anyone have any suggestions>

I lure the other spawn away and fight irk one on one but he still kills me.. I am a sampire
120 bush
120 parry
110 swords
100 tactics
60 chivalry
100 resist

suit is 70/70/70/70/75 while in vamp. I have 30 HLD, 45 HCI, 47 DCI, 94 damage increase on my suit. HLD I have 128 hit points, 153 stamina, 59 mana. I honor irk, eeo, concencrate weapon, then lightening strike and evade and confidence. Also riding my swampy.

My weapons are :
Soul Seeker

Mages Rune blade
HML 47
HSL 36
FC 1
SSI 25
DI 45

Heavy Ornate Axe
HML 50
HSL 34
SSI 30
DI 48

I have tried all 3 weapons.. yet I cant get him to even half health... there has to be somethign I am doing incorrectly?

I can solo doom guantlet and the DFs (DFs take about 25 minutes and the rooms I blow through in 15 minutes).

I just cant kill this dang irk!

Any help is appreciated!

My guess would be that no anatomy and no healing is your problem. When you have parry, Irk is harder to hit, and you don't have healing to fall back on. If you're not hitting, you're not leeching, which means death, especially without healing.

Use the Luminous rune blade. It's 100& energy damage.

or find another 100% energy wep.
Consecrate just doesn't seem to help against him.

trust me, it solved my problem right up.

honor him, and jam down that Attack Last key.

That was my solution too.

Also start using potions if all the upper advice does not do it:
Chugging a greater heal pot now and then to help you in a tight spot, confusion blast to get a little breather, complete refresh when your mana ist too low to cast devine fury....you get the drift!

Why would you recommend 100% Energy damage? He's just as weak to energy as he is cold, so the soulseeker sounds like the right weap.

I've never had a problem with Irk or any of the monsters in the weald for that matter. I have healing and 40 EP on my suit, so that might be one factor.

Nah, I take Irk, Spite, and Guile all down with the Soulseeker. Never have any problems with it unless they get stuck on the rocks.

So my skills/suit/ and weapon (soul seeker) seem to be OK?

I guess its just my tactics and dumb luck ;-<

I will try some more when I get home... died 5 times last night up there.. going to have to work on rebuilding my Honor if I keep this up.

Thanks for the help.... Ill keep at him till I figure it out...

I'm running the same template except with 120 weapon skill, and I have no problem taking down Irk with a valorite Diamond Mace. No idea what might be going wrong :/

Yes I would just say it is in your tactics. Don't rely on evade (hard to really when it is once every 20 seconds you can use it) and confidence. Both are more countermeasure tactics than anything else.

By the way what did you mean by rebuild your honor? Shouldn't be honoring yourself. Other than that, I see a glaring weakness that nobody for whatever reason has not mentioned yet.

You need to be packing 120 weapon skill. Why? Because sometimes the random Irk will have legendary stats (random spawn chance...is not consistent).

Aside from your weapon skill, use any weapon type except 100% physical or anything with physical damage. Use a nice breakdown of energy, poison or cold damage, or 100% types.

Risso I would say basically hit it on the head. 120 weapon + valorite or verite weapon materials = Irk dead fast.

I dunno, I honor myself to lure down the bosses when there are too many in one spot.

I honor to get back there past the changlings.. and the more I die the more I am having to honor and I die alot it seems in there ;->

Well I only have 710 skill points, so what should I lower? tactics to 90 or maybe resist to 90?

would be nice to find a nice ring or brace with HCI DCI DI and a skill I could use.. Currently using the following jewls :
Ring - Str Bonus 4, HCI 13, DCI 14, DI 21, Poison Resist 4
Brace - ANimal Lore 9, HCI 12, DCI 13, DI 18, Fire resist 9 (wish animal lore was something else!

Headed back to irk here in a few...see if I can come out victorious!

Your personal preference but weapon, bushido and parry (if you use it) should all remain high. If I had to choose based on what you have, I would lower tactics to 90. Should have capped damage anyways. Works nicely if you throw in other skills in place of resist (given the situation). Some people work 95 for the throw out skills and have chivalry at 65 (you fail EoO less).

Which changelings are we talking about? The other named ones? If Guile or Sprite I can somewhat understand. The regular ones in my opinion...you should just dispatch of. That way you have the whole top corner to yourself. Some people like the top corner...some like the bottom left corner.

To be honest I would practice in this order since they all have similar tactics:

1. Changeling paragon
2. Sprite
3. Guile
4. Then Irk.

The funny thing from my experience is this: Guile usually has more HP then Irk does. If you can kill Guile...you can kill Irk.

As kind of a side note, if you ever swap out skills you receive an evasion bonus for having GM tactics coupled with GM anatomy that ties into your bushido and evasion ability.

Evasion lasts 3 to 6 seconds. You will receive a 2 second bonus by having bushido, tactics and anatomy all above GM level.

I think you also get an extra 10% chance to evade with both over 100.
