I started a new char on SP and i had no proble gaining stealth up to 25.
Hiding still gains, but my stealth dont move a singel gain.
So what is the secret to make it gain again? yes i have points to spend only at 250 points yet.

Check the thief's forum, it's a while since I trained stealth, but it sounds like you need to change what you're wearing to bump the gains.

He may be on Siege and unable to buy any skills (I have seen him post there)
This is from the Assassins guild FAQ.
How do I raise Stealth?

Again stealth is movement based so you should head out on a boat and start 8x8ing once you hit 80.1 hiding. But the difference from stealth is that its ALSO difficulty based, meaning you must "challenge yourself" for gains, or do it where you fail around 40% of the time.
Here is a Chart made by Lord Lythande that I and many others follow:
0-30 Buy from Thief Guildmaster
30-65 Stealth with only newbie clothes and a robe on
65-95 GM Full Studded Leather Suit
95-GM GM Full Studded Leather Suit and GM Close Helm

I got stuck at 25.1 for a while but I kept trying and it finally gave way. An easy way to raise stealth is to cast invisibility and start walking. Youo are gonna fail quite often at this low number but don't give up.

Try putting armor on, you will fail more. I know at a certain skill level wearing plate for example will reveal you and help with gains!

You will gain in hiding while attempting to stealth because stealth first does a hiding check and then attempts to stealth. At least I think it is something like that.
At that low of a level just your newbie clothes and robe should work. Just keep at it.

Later on you will have to switch to different types of armor.

Ubbe,

Put some clothes on, or some leather pieces.

The easiest way to train stealth that I know of is:

Using a customizable house, create a room that allows you to walk 10 or so steps in one direction, I prefer north-south. Create a teleporter set on that path so you can walk in one direction infinitely, meaning if you are walking north, have the teleporter take you back to a position directly south of itself. Set yourself to walk north onto the teleporter while attempting to hide.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

You will gain stealth like mad doing this, as long as you have the right amount of clothing/armor on.

I could be wrong because I've not trained it on SP only on Prod shards but I've always GM'd hiding first then worked stealth.

[/ QUOTE ]I thought you had to have hiding to 80 before you could train stealth? Or was that a long time ago? Or did that never happen and it was just a dream? hehe

I also had problems at that point. It took pretty long until I gained the next skill point, but it worked. From 25-28 it takes very long. One thing you can do is to take some jewels with skill bonus in stealth.
I don't think that you can change the skill gains with different armour at this point.

If you have Ninjitsu or the char is Human you can also go in Rat/Rabbit form for +20 stealth which should take you in to a range you can gain in.

There is also a range of Ninjitsu you can no longer gain in without Shadow Jumping since they lowered the requirement for Focus Attack, to get around it you can put on items until using Death Strike. (This one they know about though)

The real trick to train stealth is to use moongates because you arrive on destination already hidden. It will still perform the hiding check, but you won't be forced to wait 10 secs between each steath attemp.

Just setup a macro that makes you jump between moongates on UOA. Then if you can use stealth passively (25 stealth should be enough) move away one step from the gate, otherwise use stealth actively (in this latter case just remember that you can use stealth actively only once every 5 secs, so be sure to time the jump among the gates accordingly).

Get more hiding. The stealth will come... very slowly... I mean very. Then you will hit RoT and all is good. Sort of.

Try and get your hiding up as much as you can first, keep adding leather armor until you cant gain in it, then start replacing medable leather with Studded pieces 1 at a time until your gaining again.

At 100 hiding 68 stealth i was using 3 studded pieces and a Plate gorget to gain stealth into rot(70), after you hit rot its gravy.
