Need a faction feature for this event

I can't get people interested in factions for this event because they don't want the whole alliance (including everyone's blue PvP chars, crafters, etc) to be in a faction. Some of us would put a character into a faction if we could also still be in the alliance but this was 'fixed' some time ago.

Can we get it so that a single faction guild can be in an alliance again?

Without it our alliance is out of this.

I know you can't join a guild thats already in factions to an alliance, but I think you can create a guild, join it to your alliance and then make the guild a faction guild. Can anyone confirm? Save me 25,000 gp trying it out this weekend.....
