Necromancy & Poisoning Train

If necromancy is taught to the domesticated creature first, and then poisoning ability, can necromancy cast a spell? Or does the creature try to attack in melee mode?

Yes if you add a magic from the magic abilties menu and then add another one, The first one is not active.

What pet type?

I want to train Nightmare. I trained both Necromancy and Poisoning abilities for Nigtmare. Can't I use the poisoning skill in Poison Strike magic?
What is the difference of using the poisoning ability alone?
