Where is the easiest place to get necro spells?

They can be written by a scribe, but if you want to get them off spawn, I guess imps in Hythloth or the hedge maze would probably be easiest.

Imps and ratman mages are the two most common sources, but Petra's right in that the Imps are the easier of the two. They carry the 10 "low-level" spells that are roughly equivalent to level 1-3 Mage spells in power.

The 5 "mid-level" spells and Exorcism are carried by the same monsters that carry level 4-7 mage spell scrolls (liches, gargoyles, etc.)

And, of course, the only sources for Vampiric Embrace are other players, Meer Eternals, Dark Fathers, and event creatures like the Crimson Dragon.

IIRC, you can get a full book if you are under 50 necro, and do one of the necro quests in New Haven - but if you're trying to fill an ossian grimoire (As to not have to carry two books), you have to kill a lot of things.

And if you're not in a real hurry to fill the book, the Luna Bank floor works well too

Doh! that reminded me. Full necro book is the reward for doing the necromancer trainer's quest in New haven.
