is the color of the drop really random?

well i did never the quest before but
i did the last 3 days around 60 quests and the experience i made are

when i get a black seed i get like 4-5 of them in a row then color changes, for example to white, then i get white 3-5 in a row, then maybe 3 fire.

this cant be really random with a 1/3 chance for one seed, the drops should be more mixed when it follows a statistic

same with aqua, magenta and pink

The last time I did a serious run on the 5th hive, the majority of my seeds were black, followed by white with very few fire. I'm going to do another one soon in preperation for staining and Halloween, so if I don't forget, I'll post my results here.

well i dont talk about majority of a color ... i am talking about getting one color 3-5 times IN A ROW then it changes and the next color i get 3-5 times in a row too and so on

that cant be RNG ...at least the generator is bugged

i dont care about it because i want all colors anyway, i just noticed that something must be wrong with the RNG

yes, fire seems to be more rare, but today i got 5 out of 11 runs

I think it is all messed up. Tonight as with many others nights I have been doing the seed quest........20 times tonight. And I got 2 black , 2 white and 16 stupid fire red seeds I get much much more fire red than white or black . I really wish they could even it out a bit.

Last night I did the quest going to the fifth nest 10 times and ended up with 4 white, 3 black, and 3 fire red seeds. Other than getting 3 white seeds in a row at one point, the order of the colors when they dropped seemed pretty random.

I doubt there's any "memory" of what color you got last time. Keep in mind that there are probably thousands of "random calls" to get numbers every minute... everyone fighting, crafting, etc gets a random result in the same way.

By the time you do run 1 and get a seed and then return after run 2, there have literally been thousands of random numbers generated in that period of time.

After studying the four nests, you must study a fifth. Go to a sandy area (beaches are good) and plant a green thorn. The thorn will open a hole in the sand. Double click the hole and you will find yourself underground in another nest. When your study of the fifth nest is complete, return to the naturalist. He will give you a black, or white, or fire seed.

The RNG hates my guts!


I decided to let 13yr old loose on the seed quests the other day. She must have run through around thirty for me, and predominantly got fire seeds. I'd written her a list of what you get, how you get them and star marked the ones I wanted. I have to say, for age 13, she's pretty inventive when it comes to cursing without profanity! She noticed that she was getting mostly fire seeds, and this seems to be a theme for me too - I have around 2 dozen sitting about the place when what I actually wanted was blacks and whites. I don't quite know whether the RNG is having a hissy or we're just really unlucky, but the more I do this quest, the more I think the damn thing is broken!

I've been running the quest 12 times a day since I got interested in staining last month. My results have been pretty evenly distributed over time. I think my worst day was 9 fire seeds out of 12, but I had a really good day yesterday with 7 black seeds, and 4 white.
