Mythic-Idea for Gold Sink..

Okay sitting here in a drug filled rage i came up with an idea.


These Luna Houses that are "Burning" There needs to be a lottery for the Plots.

5 Mill a Lottery Ticket, I would in fact try my luck and Buy until my account ran dry.

Thats MY idea..

Of course if you use it, You owe me a finders fee, or an EM Spot...

Which ever you choose.

I think continuing to let it burn would just give those that got banned (and probably made new accounts the next day and are scripting again anyway) a sense of satisfaction that they've made the powers that be so upset that they feel the need to make some sort of head-on-a-stick warning to other scripters.

It just immortalizes them in the game, and do we really want that?

Just sudden one day at server up clear the spot and let the next lucky person who falls upon the spot place a house And so, UO will go on

Also, what about those of us that don't have 5MILL to throw at a SLIM chance for a house spot? I prefer my odds at randomly coming across an open plot, I don't even have 5Mill to begin with. This idea will only increase the difference between the rich and the poor. You want a gold sink? Go to Luna (or any bank). Make checks for all of your gold. Put it in the trash can.

If you are going to throw 5mill around like its nothing then I'd gladly take it and I'm sure many many other people would to.

I completely agree with you. The rich would get richer (by real estate) and the poor get poorer (by never having a chance at it).

A better gold sink would be to charge players for in-GZ housing per-whatever. This would only tax the rich old players. Those grandfathered houses should have a cost. We newer players know they can afford it.

Eh, not all the old players are rich.. I reopened my old account from '99-03 and am still a poor person.

The only house I had back then was an itty bitty small stone tower in the Brit Swamps fellucca side that decayed away with my account unfortunately. I saved up a whopping 400k for that account which was a BIG DEAL for me back then. Today I got a 250k check from a gift-away on my shard just for expressing my interest in the event. Go figure

Damn I'm glad I stopped playing Trammel. 250k is still a decent amount on Siege. Then again in my 3 weeks on Trammel I made 25 mil doing almost nothing.. go figure.
