I might as well monopolize the Taming Forum for a little while. I have a Weaver/Tamer collecting dust as well.



Lore and Vet are capped at 120, Weaving is 120 but on a SS while I was working Vet and Lore. I do not believe he has any pets currently, made a nightmare or something he is holding for my main tamer.

So my questions are:

1. What pets and templates would pair nicely with Weaving?
2. Is this template too old? Is there a more suitable template for a Weaver/Tamer?
3. Can UO catch my attention again and I resub when my month is over or will I end up back in Eve Online?

Your main skills of Taming, Lore, and Spellweaving at 120 is the power behind the template. Have Vet at 100 and use enhanced bandages. The best pet depends on what you’re fighting. You can use Gift of Renewal on your pet. Not to muddy the water, but some players also have an Archer-Tamer with spellweaving.

A spellweaving/mage/tamer is a super useful and common tamer template. It's fairly balanced in that you have three different ways to heal your pet (magery, vet, and spellweaving) but with magery/weaving/eval you can still dish out some damage along with the pet. In particular I like to let my pet do most of the DPS while keeping it healed and saving my mana to then unload Word of Death spells on the target at the end, bring the fight to a swift close. With a level 6 crystal you can start those at 30% of the target's health left, giving you ample time to contribute damage.

This is my current weaver/mage template without mods. With gear mods I have 120 eval/magery/meditation. I only run 40 bet because I carry a ring/bracelet set with +20 vet on each to swap on to rez a pet when needed. I run this with a unbuffed 176 SDI suit and a full set of 30 SDI slayer spellbooks. One of my two favorite builds. The pet I run depends on what I'm fighting.
